I was looking for an iron that was nonstick with retractable cord that was also affordable. I picked up the iron and it meets all of those criteria plus some I’m very happy with the purchase.

No longer hate ironing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate to iron but was intrigued by some of the features of this iron I received to try as a member of the Hamilton Beach All-Star Ambassadors. First, it has a cord which retracts into the heel rest with the touch of a button eliminating the need to figure out what to do with the cord when iron is not in use. The iron is very easy to use for dry ironing, steam ironing, or as a vertical steamer. Instructions for use are concise and clear. Using tap water is another plus. Also there is auto shutoff after one hour but it can be reset if ironing is not finished. I am very happy with this product that make ironing easier and not as hated.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoy my new iron. It has a longer cord than previous models. However. The cord is retractable, and stores inside the unit. Which makes it ultra manageable. I also trully enjoy the added option of using vertical steam for quick wrinkle removal from my clothing, for last minute out the door wardrobe touch ups to keep me looking my best. I also really appreciate the nonstick surface of the iron plate. Tested this already with some of my delicate materials, also setting the appropriate temp for those delicates, was also made much easier by the handy little dial, that is clearly marked with diffrent material types. I also appreciate the handy placement of the buttons for spray and blast. The last feature i truly appreciate, is the auto shutoff, it is really a super added plus, for extra busy people like myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I specifically replaced my old iron by this iron because of its retractable cord function which I like most. It works very well. Iron is also not much heavy, weight wise good for me. It heats up quickly and get hot fast. Worked very well on wrinkled Cotton shirt( intensionally I tried on it). Overall satisfied results for me. I like it.

Great Iron with Lots of Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like my new Hamilton Beach Nonstick Retractable Cord Iron. The iron seems to glide very smoothly over clothes – noticeably smoother than my old iron. The material, Durathon, in the nonstick plate is supposed to be much more durable than traditional nonstick iron coatings so I’m excited about that for the long term use of the iron. In ironing a couple of shirts the steam seems really good and stronger than the steam in my old iron. This iron also does a great job on slacks. The more powerful steaming may be due to the fact that this iron also can be used as a vertical steamer. I tried that on a wrinkled shirt on a hanger and it did remove some of the wrinkles. I like the 8 foot retractable cord that stores in the base of the iron. It is fast and easy to use when the iron has cooled and I am ready to put the iron and ironing board away. I also like the self-cleaning feature of the iron for long term use. I recommend this iron when you are ready to purchase your next one. I also like the peace of mind and safety of the Have peace of mind knowing the clothing iron will automatic power off after 30 seconds when placed on its soleplate or side and after 15 minutes when propped upright on its heel (so it won’t power off using the 30 second option during use).

It really is nonstick and makes ironing much easier, especially when using spray starch. The iron is also lighter than my old one and the retractable cord is great for storage. All in all, a great buy.

All appliances should have them. I found this iron to be just the right size, weight, balance and attractive too.

The water reservoir level is easy to see and should last you about an hour. There is a pull out plug and a water channel to easily fill with a cup. I've experienced no leaking.
As soon as you plug in the cord, a red light turns on which is also the 1 hour auto-off timer and reset.
Adjusting the fabric temperature dial is what turns it on. The iron is ready to go before me, in less than 2 minutes.

The iron has the ability to vertical steam the wrinkles out of a hanging garment. You use the left thumb button for 2 second bursts of steam. There is a right thumb button that is used to squirt unheated water. It has a narrow stream. Most people would use an adjustable spray bottle instead.
As you iron horizontally, steam comes out at a rate that you select with a 4 position switch located in front of the two thumb buttons. The steam is smooth with no spitting. Position 1 is off for dry ironing.
Since the base also houses the retractable cord, it makes for a very solid and stable vertical stand. The bottom plate is a non stick coating with plenty of holes and glides over fabric nicely.
This iron is the perfect fit for me, not too large, not too small. Lots to like here. The only thing I didn't care for was the one page small font three language "Use and Care guide".
But that is not the iron, so for me this is 5 stars.
