Product was shipped right away, install is much easier than the old wired systems, be sure to have camera connected and running before permanent install. Had one that worked fine 1 foot away but not mounted. Camera operations are slow for tracking or manual maneuvering. Fairly easy to set up with the app and connection but a little computer knowledge is needed, call the grandkids. The price for cloud should be for 10 cameras not only 5 most places wouldn't use more than 10. or add 25% for 10. reason I say 10 is for closer mounting and better picture clarity. The picture quality is pretty good but not at coverage distance. all and all we would buy another set.
The cameras impressed me from the very first use. Honestly, I expected the image quality to be much lower, even though the product description states 4K resolution. In reality, the picture is very clear and detailed.
The solar panel could be slightly larger. Over the past few days the weather has been cloudy with very little sunlight, and the battery has slowly drained (from 45% to 30% over five days). That said, for a solar-powered camera, the battery life is surprisingly good. I have had no issues with camera rotation or zoom functionality.
App
From what I understand, Aosu is a relatively new company. The Aosu app provides basic functionality, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Features such as face recognition and face labeling should either be included by default (not locked behind a subscription) or offered as a separate optional service.
Additionally, the user cannot set a custom video length鈥攖he recording is capped at one minute, with immediate re-recording, which results in many short video clips. I would also like the option to disable recording and saving when family members pass by, but this is currently not possible. I could list many more suggestions, but since Aosu is still a young company, I hope these issues will be addressed over time.
Integration
The cameras can be connected to Amazon Alexa and Google Home, but they do not support the RTSP protocol. Because of this, integrating the cameras with third-party software for personal or advanced use is nearly impossible. I have several ideas on how I would like to customize the system, but at the moment this is not feasible. An update that allows users to program or integrate the cameras more freely would be fantastic鈥攁nd technically, this should not be difficult to implement.
Overall
Overall, I am very satisfied with the product. However, since there is still significant room for improvement, I am giving it 4 stars. Aosu markets its cameras as modern and forward-thinking, and this should be reflected more strongly in user convenience and software flexibility. If the software-related issues mentioned above are resolved in the future (the hardware itself is excellent), this product would easily deserve a 5-star rating.
