Functionally, these earbuds work well for sleeping and have been used to both help mask my tinnitus and to record a sleep history. If those were the only considerations then their rating would be either a 4/5 or 5/5. Where the A20 earbuds fall short, however, is the app, most importantly for 2 reasons:
1) The sleep history is limited to one device. If you have, for example, both an iPhone and an iPad and connect the A20 to the iPad at night then the sleep history is only available on the iPad, presenting difficulties for someone (such as myself) who is using the A20s to help with medical diagnosis of sleep disorders.
2) There is no way to download the sleep history, an important factor, again, in using the A20s to help with medical diagnosis of sleep disorders
The bottom line is that the A20 earbuds, while very useful, are hamstrung by the accompanying app and a better app would make the A20s a much more useful product.
I’d have given these earbuds a five star rating before the recent firmware update. Since then, the charge lasts less time and the new interface is even more obtuse than before. It’s no longer clear how to automatically switch from Bluetooth to white noise after falling asleep, and the charge doesn’t last a full night. Very disappointed.
I tried multiple configurations of the ear wings and tips, but still couldn’t get decent noise cancellation. I could hear everything in the room. I am returning them.
They disrupted sleep by turning sound on and off throughout the night. Part of the rubber piece got stuck in the ear and had to be removed with tweezers. Overall not a good buy.
I want to love these....but they have caused great frustrations. I've even echanged them for a different pair. When they work, they're great, but they frequently disconnect at night. When trying to reconnect, I'm not always able to. I even tried to "reset" the earbuds to my bluetooth unsuccesfully. (I had to wait for morning to successfully reset) The problem is that they require so much putzing with them in middle of the night when you are depending on them to help you sleep BETTER! Defeats the purpose. I have until tomorrow to return them to Best Buy,; which I think I will do.
I got these because I lost my Sleep A10s while traveling. These work fine, but I prefer the design of the A10s. These don’t nestle as deeply in the charging case, with the result that it’s easy to dislodge them while sliding the case shut. And then I don’t realize that that happened until the next night, when I go to use them, and one or both have not charged. This has happened to me several times. The A10s didn’t have this problem.
Horrible brand that offers garbage products that fail after few months of use and they don’t offer warranty in Mexico. Even when that should. If you can’t back your product with a warranty then you shouldn’t sell it. Shameless brand that takes advantage of their customers.
