My interest in these headphones was high as I have tried multiple sleep headbands and regular headphones to help me fall asleep, stay asleep, and go back to sleep. I have an active brain and a spouse who snores; finding a good headphone solution would help us remain in the same bedroom at night. The features of the A20 headphones are good with the slim fit, noise blocking options, and auto switching white noise. Also, having a phone free control of adjustments is important to not flood myself and spouse with light from the phone if I need to adjust what is playing or make changes to volume.
As a user and lover for the Google Pixel Buds Pro with their easy touch controls I looked forward to similar functionality in the A20 Sleep Earbuds. However, the touch controls on the A20 are unusable. They do not work, on either bud, even if pressing hard enough to drive the buds dangerously and uncomfortably into my ear canals. After multiple attempts and testing, even after working with Soundcore support on instructions for proper use, the only way I can get the "touch" controls to work is pinching it between two fingers. Even then the response if erratic at best and requires multiple attempts to use.
The next major downfall for me is the white noise. I do like the auto pause of bluetooth audio and switching over to white noise. However, the change over generally wakes me up as the volume is high on the background noise. To remedy this, I spent time adjusting settings including dynamic volume that uses the phone's microphone to adjust based on nearby sounds. Still it is too loud and abrupt plus the loops are short with poor transition between the loop. I could hear the change from the start of the clip to the end and restart every several seconds.
The good aspects are the fit and general comfort as a side sleeper. My ears did get hot and I worried about trapping heat and moisture in my ear that could lead to infection or other issues. The case is slick and works well. The app has a lot of options, but is not super user-friendly. I kept finding myself clicking around in multiple places to find what I wanted and discovering that some options are only available when the buds are out or in the case and dependent on the mode they were in. It was frustrating and confusing.
If the price was lower I would keep them, but with the price point I don't see enough value and will return it. An update to the app and firmware may go a long way to helping the issues too.
Comfort and sound is excellent, but one earbuds continually cuts out, as if it’s losing signal. I love my two other Soundcore models, so I returned the first pair and bought another set. Same problem! My Q45s are awesome. My Liberty 3 Pros, outstanding. Even when sleeping in them. So I was ecstatic about getting the A20s, only to be sorely disappointed when they kept cutting out. So I returned the 2nd set and setting for being uncomfortable in my Q45s or just go without.
I returned these after a week. I found the documentation on how to operate them minimal and unhelpful. I couldn’t get them to charge fully, it was unclear how to pair them, I didn’t want to have to operate them so through an entire separate app, it wasn’t at all clear how to switch from pre-loaded content to streaming, the online manual wasn’t any clearer and when I did get them to stream, the sound quality was tinny. Definitely not a device I was prepared to pay $150 bucks for. I give two stars because they were comfortable to wear and I liked the range of fittings that came with them. But yeah, just way too complicated to operate and the instructions weren’t useful.
A previous Bose Sleepbuds owner, I’m 3 nights in wearing the Soundcore Sleep A20 earbuds and these are awesome! Very easy set up, so quick pairing with app and totally user friendly. These are so comfortable, I’m a side sleeper, so many soundscape options as well as AI Brainwave Audio options for meditation/relaxation. The price is half of what I paid for the Bose, and have superior sound and quality. You can use a preset EQ option or create your own if you want to listen to music. They are also equipped with built in sleep analytics, so cool! These earbuds live up to everything they say about them, and more!
Love these. Quality is pretty okay for a sleep set. Wouldn’t recommend for audiophiles. My biggest issue is the color. I sleep crazy and can never find these buds whenever I wake up. I need to spray paint them bright green or something
I have the Sleep A10 and the A40 and absolutely love them. I have to say I think Soundcore support is top notch! I wouldnt hesitate to purchase any of there products again.
It really helps to muffle sound enough from my upstairs neighbors so that I can sleep better at night. The only thing that I wish was different is I wish the alarm had a snooze option
After owning Bose sleep buds and giving up on them after many issue found this one.
Those buds are just Amazing for my use, don't live in fairyland and expect that noise from highway next to the Hotel or angry housekeeper slamming the door in Hotel :-))) would be blocked, NO. But they can give you little bit of break and great sound with perfect comfortable fit. For 150$ you get great set that can play any music through Bluetooth comparing to Bose 300 playing only sleep music My problem with this small pearl, they skip stop play by itself. I am walking or driving a car and suddenly they stop and few minutes they play again or they switch between modes very annoying
