We picked one of these up for the 9yo and 4yo. Took the 9yo a while to build, but he got it by himself, and my wife, who usually doesn’t usually do anything with Lego had no trouble building g for the 4yo. The 9yo is more into army-building, and 4yo loves more active play, and it works for both of them. I personally find it a design flaw that the top hatch cannot close with a minifig in it, but other than that, the set is fun to play with, and looks great on a shelf. Both kiddos love having a set with multiple clones and battle droids, and I think the Mace Windu with CW armor printing is fantastic.
i want to love this set. it looks super cool! but its really flimsy. the anntanes and any hatches will break, even if the most skilled builder perfectly put it together. i borke all hatches, some 1 by 4 bars and even a WHEEL while fixing the back hatch. it broke for going back and forth (but i forgot to add the wheel back on...
First of all, I'm slightly biased here. I don't hate the color scheme, but to me, this set should have had some gray in it to create more contrast. It feels too shiny and bright. I also never use stickers on my Legos, I don't like the look and I wish they would just print the designs, especially with what we pay per piece. The build is extremely flat, although the build process was enjoyable. Not difficult, fun modular style build. The clones are AWESOME. I don't care that they aren't canon, they look so good in purple! This won't be like the AT-TE for me where I buy 4-5 sets, this is a one and done for my collection. If that's your intent, go for it, otherwise, for mocs I'd skip.
