Remote with no mute button…. Again
on October 19, 2026
Posted by: Lg1100
No mute button, this is multiple model years now and LG is still not listening to consumers. Shame on the design team who approved this! The most basic function. Using the app or holding down button and pushing it back up every time on the remote is worthless….

Almost great

We love everything about this remote, except the roller ball button broke very quickly and is stuck now pushed into the face of the remote making using it extremely difficult. If only it was built a little better, this would be my favorite remote I've ever used because otherwise it is very intuitive!

Hello there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We understand how important it is to have smooth, reliable navigation with your TV remote, and we acknowledge your experience regarding the scroll wheel roller ball button on your 2026 Magic Remote Control, model MR26GA. The MR26GA is designed to provide intuitive, mouse-like pointing, intelligent voice recognition, and wheel control for convenient navigation across compatible smart TVs.

To help ensure smooth performance and check the scroll wheel operation, please consider trying these care steps:
⦁ Gently wipe around the scroll wheel and pointer area using a soft, dry microfiber cloth to clean away any dust or debris that might be affecting button movement.
⦁ Inspect the roller ball housing to ensure no external particles are causing the wheel button to bind or stick inside the frame.
⦁ Perform a quick remote reset and re-pair by pressing and holding the Home and Back buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds until the power light flashes, then press the Wheel (OK) button while pointing at your TV to test responsiveness.

Useless remote
on October 9, 2026
Posted by: SnakeEyes
Why no mute button? Holding the volume - button for 1 second isn't a useful alternative.
You need to assign a quick launch function to a number on a keypad, but the remote doesn't have a keypad, so you can't utilize that feature.
The quick launch keys for Netflix, etc are so close to the volume buttons that they get hit accidentally. Why couldn't they be 2 centimeters further away?
The navigation buttons are too small for an adult thumb to easily use.
The remote have a heart button, but the TV says that the remote doesn't support that function. So then why is this remote paired to this model TV?
I'm better off using the remote that came with my old BXUPA tv but I shouldn't have to considering how much I paid for this new TV.
It's not just that this remote is a failure of design, it's useless because it doesn't match with features that are built into the TV.
Whoever approved this remote should be forced to call every single purchaser and apologize.

No mute button

The lack of a separate mute button is ridiculous. There are sponsored app buttons (Netflix, Prime, Disney, YouTube) but no mute?? Very frustrating.

The scroll/press button feature is awful. It gets triggered by accident all the time and the pointer is way off.

LG, you have faided us Seniors
on September 28, 2026

The first time I tried to use this remote with my new OLED65C6PUA TV I found my tremors (89 years old) would not let me use the pointing dot. Pushing the thing in middle to select things was impossible. No training from the seller/installer made the problems worse. 20 minutes to find the mute button? No documentation with the TV forced me to spend hours on the internet finding any instructions. Also I don't use a smart phone. Why force you to use something you don't have to supplement the remote. Why aren't the controls on the remote. It's totally useless for me and my wife. We use the remote from our 8 year old 55" TV. It works sort of all right. LG, you failed us seniors.

Terrible Remote
on September 27, 2026
Posted by: Alaska Wolf
I just replaced my old CX 55 inch with a new C6. I like the TV except for the useless AI features crammed into every nook and cranny. But what I dislike the most is the included remote, the old CX 55's remote is superior in every way. What kind of engineer sat done and thought that deleting a Mute button was a good idea? I neither want nor need an AI button, but I actually NEED a mute button. They "simplified" the remote to the point of being pretty much useless; its too bad, I really thought the C6 would be a good replacement for my old CX55. Its too bad my old Magic Remote won't work with the C6.

Missing Critical Features
on September 22, 2026

This remote has no play button, no pause button and no mute button.
It does, on the other hand have a YouTube button, a Disney+ button, a Netflix button. a Prime Video Button, an LG Channels button, and a "News" button.
It also has a Home Hub Button, an AI button, and a TV Guide button.
But no Mute.
And no Pause.
This device demonstrates a true failure to meet the demands of the consumer.
