USB-C dead on arrival

Looked like a nice monitor at a good price, and free shipping to my door, then the headaches started. Unfortunately I wasted 45 min trying to get it to connect to my Macbook Air only to realize one of the 2 USB-C ports is dead. ASUS on-line "digital assistant" is as useless as any other, like trying to argue with a 2nd grader. And the fine print says I cannot return this thing at a BestBuy store, i have to re-package and ship back to the manufacturer. Seriously? Who has time for this. I expect their QC to ensure a fully functional device. I bet they rely on people's frustration to not return a partially functioning unit because of the headache. This was my first and will be my last ASUS monitor. Buyer beware.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
