8 ports is enough for me.

My need for ethernet ports grew having expanded from Netgear's 5-port switch. Now all my devices are connected and working fine. Installation took 5 minutes from the Netgear's cable modem to 6 ethernet devices. I have 2 spare ports to grow into.

What's not to like about this 8-port switch, each port capable of 1 Gb/s, especially at its attractive price point? Zero configuration: any port any device, upstream device on any port, no worry about cross-over cables, just plug and play. Too, MS Windows networking capabilities have evolved to the point where your PC will find and use a printer located on this switch with no user involvement. Ditto Apple iOS, at least for my iPad (I do not use a MAC computer). Highly recommended.

I never used this type of product until I researched more about it. I’m glad I got this product with my mesh product and works perfectly providing Ethernet to Ky dives wired.

Immediate results were great, easy-peasy, like a switch is supposed to behave, great throughput. Problem: so far (1 week), every morning requires a reboot - connection not maintained. Probably will end up returning it, unless a miracle occurs soon.

I ordered this to go along with my Google Nest mesh system. It works great and allows me to hardwire the Roku, Play Station and desktop computer directly in to the Google Nest for lightening fast speeds. Fully recommend.
