The local fire department installed Model SD2J0AX in my home. I am a low income senior citizen so I was not charged HOWEVER, they were installed Sept. of 2025 and it is now July 2026 (not even a year) and I have found TWO do not work. It is hard telling how long they have not been working. I just tested them today August 12, 2026. The test button does nothing. No lights. They didn't even chirp like detectors do when they have low battery. They both say Date of Manufacture is May 7, 2025. Even if going by that date, these do not last 10 years. Not even close. Again today's date is 8/12/2026. I'd like to send these back to X-Sense owners so they can hang them in their homes.

Dear Customer,
We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience you have experienced with your SD2J0AX smoke alarms. We deeply care about your safety and peace of mind.
Please note that the SD2J0AX model features a safety activation switch on the back. When the device is removed from its mounting bracket, this switch releases to turn off power, meaning the alarm will only respond when the back switch is fully pressed down (either by mounting it onto the bracket or holding it manually). Additionally, testing the unit requires a brief press of the Test/Silence button rather than holding it down.
Our customer support team has reached out to you via email to provide further assistance and ensure your concerns are thoroughly addressed.

I bought 3, 2 of them go off for no reason. Absolutely no smoke, in bedrooms far from the kitchen. Installed exactly as instructed. Replaced already. Do not recommend.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Trey,
We are sincerely sorry for the disruption and frustration caused by the false alarms.
False alarms can sometimes be triggered by tiny particles, dust, or airflow changes around the sensor chamber. We stand behind our quality and would love to investigate what happened or assist you further. Please feel free to reach out to our team at support@x-sense.com.
Absolute garbage, detectors go off when there is NOTHING to make them go off. Waste of my money, bought 3 replaced all 3.

Good looking and reasonably priced. Base mounting holes aren’t aligned up-down or left-right with the alarm face, so if mounting on wall, the screw holes are at an angle you have to correct for.
