It’s great on floors and low pile carpets. If you have heavy shedding animals you will need to empty the collection cup more often. We have 4 dogs, and a cat. Love this thing. Used it for 4 mo. So this is accurate

It’s not strong enough for the rugs, but it’s pretty good for the hardwoods. The cordless operation and the attachments make it very convenient for quick pickups and touchups.
