I was looking forward to adding this cheese knife to my Rada collection ... but. When slicing cheese I noticed I couldn't seem to cut an even slice. On closer inspection, I discovered this knife is NOT ambidextrous. The way the blade is formed will work beautifully for 90% of the population but not for the 10% of us lefties. I Love my Rada knives, just not the cheese knife.

Cuts anything

When I got this knife I was not sure what kind of knife it was. I guessed cheese knife, but it has been so versatile.
As a person with arthritic hands I have a hard time holding and cutting most food items, so I tried using this knife to slice a large sweet onion and I was astonished at how easy it was.
So later I decided to try cutting a sweet potato which for me is usually impossible -- OMG!! The wonderful cheese knife made it so easy.
I used it for everything that needs slicing - even croissants and English muffins. And of course all cheese too. 5 thumbs up

The cheese knife currently being marketed is useless.
The problem is no matter how hard you try, it is impossible to keep it from substantially curving to the left.
A typical paring knife works much better than this product for cutting cheese.

Hi Jack, thank you for your note. Many people like the cheese knife but we agree that the design of the cheese knife makes it difficult to cut straight. We have started a discussion of what would a "new and improved" redesign look like but that is likely a year or more down the road.
Regarding your paring knife to cut cheese comment, our GM says he often uses the Tomato Knife to do so. I have used both but find myself searching the drawer for the cheese knife as that is still my preference.

Doesn’t cut straight

Has a raised line down the center length of the knife. When cutting, once the cheese comes into contact with the raised line it forces the knife to turn in that direction. It’s impossible to cut a straight even slice of cheese. Every time it cuts, the cheese is twice as wide on the bottom of each slice.
