Suitable for loose soil

We experienced great difficulty tilling areas with grass and roots present. The blades get gummed up with plant matter very quickly, which in turn stalls the unit. It takes several minutes to clear the debris before work can restart.
What seems to work is using a weed trimmer to clear grass and then a pickaxe and shovel to loosen the ground before using the tiller. Even so, it took over an hour to till a 10 foot section of ground.
We hope the unit will perform with greater efficiency inside our garden which has looser soil from years of cultivation and soil amendments.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
