It dethatches ok but it doesn't collect it well at all. It doesn't go into the bag and ends up under the machine to be raked up or mowed up later

6 Trashcans full of thatch!

I had high hopes for this dethatcher going in, and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint one bit.
I ended up going over my lawn about three times total, swapping out the different blades throughout the process. Every single pass filled a trash can to the brim with thatch and dead grass. By the time I was done, I'd filled six trash cans. Six.
There's absolutely no way I would have been able to get my grass to grow properly had it not been for this machine. If you're dealing with compacted thatch and wondering whether it's worth the investment—yes, absolutely.
