Made cheaper then previously older kenmore vacuums

We’ve owned Kenmore’s vacuum cleaners since the 1970’s so decided to go with another one because of our positive experiences. The plastic attachment areas are sharp and thin. It’s inevitable that you’re going to get sliced and they’re going to snap and break. When using the much smaller floor brush attachment you have to bend down so the head can lay flush in the floor otherwise if you pull up even an inch it creates an open space causing the suction to not be able to pick up dirt and debris. Thus hurts my back and shoulder having to bend in this way. Do not think that we are going to keep this, not sure yet. On a positive note, the canister seems sturdy and it’s a very pretty color. We were able to use the back supply of canister bags with this new canister, being the same design on the inside as the old one.

The vacuum is similar to my previous Kenmore; however , there are several new features that are inferior. First, the accessories no longer store in the canister (except for floor attachment - which somewhat smaller). The others snap onto the outside in a small caddy. Second, the on/off switch is no longer on the handle. It is beside the cord retraction switch which I find less convenient. Third, the floor attachment falls out of the storage area when the canister is stored in the upright position. Fourth, the wand release has a new design. It pushes inward to release. So if you vacuum close to furniture, the release pushes inward and the power head pops off. On the plus size, my previous power mate and other attachments are interchangeable. Suction and cleaning performance are similar to my previous cleaner.

While the plastic canister makes me weary, the vacuum as a whole meets my expectations. Suction is wonderful and being able to change between carpet and floor is a plus

Not as good as older models

No I would not recommend it to a friend. Older model had an on/off switch on the handle and a separate brush for cleaning upholstery that was a mini version of the revolving carpet/floor brush.
