Overall, very pleased with my Simrad NSS 12 Evo3S

I chose this CP/FF over Garmin as I had read a lot about and spoke to quite a few fisherman who use it. Once I update my chart to CMAP Reveal, and learned how to use the unit, it has delivered great results. Fast, clear and easy to use. This product is excellent, except for a few times that it shows error codes for my Suzuki engine. Overall, the FF with my THb175hW transducer and the active image transducer really helps me find fish. The unit works consistently,well and shows all of my pertinent engine data the way I choose to show it. I just purchased another as soon as it went on sale for BF. Thumbs up Simrad !

I've owned this NSS12 evo3S for almost 2 years, it works but isn't easy to navigate. I'm down in the Sea of Cortez and so far the charts are complete garbage, they will get you across the Sea, but definitely do not try and enter a Bay at night unless an extreme emergency. Many times it will show I'm on land, going into areas it doesn't give depth of bays, just a blue area. Many of the Bays look like a kid drew the chart. As for the plotter... I can't seem to get it to leave our trail for more than a day. It really helps if I ever have to leave in the night, seeing as most times the chart is way off. That's just a couple of things I don't like.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my NSS12 evo3S's!!

I went from standard Simrad chartplatter to dual NSS12 evo3S's. My favorite feature is how they integrate into my Verado 300 outboards! Great value!

I was able to connect my mercrusier engine to my simrad and now I have all the information I need. I use the ecogps function to dial in my best trim and engine rpm to get the best mileage possible. I know my fuel range as displayed on the chart. I know how much fuel I have used on the current trip and all previous trips. The screen views are all fully customizable as well as the information side bars. If you can not find the information you are looking for , you don't need it. Also I found the product support guy I was talking to quite knowledgeable and always available , no waiting .

Been boating for 50 years and have always used the other brand. I purchased a new boat with Simrad NSS12 evo3S duel displays, radar and autopilot.
Easy to learn and use . Very happy with my purchase.

Depth sounder works intermittenly

Unit came installed in my Robalo Cayman 246. Since day one the depth sounder will stop working intermittently. Recently the unit shuts off completely when in a mild to rough chop. Not impressed with Simad

Fast loading and crystal clear with sunglasses

I bought this about a year ago I am a licensed captain and I love the speed in the clarity and son with sunglasses on the features it's just a great unit I have recommended this to other captains and they are as pleased as I am

I've had the evo3s on my skiff for about a year. It runs smooth and gets me where the fish are. I use it with FMT in South Florida.
