My late husband gave me my first KitchenAid mixer 30+ years ago, and it’s still going strong. I purchased the larger one last fall due to family expanding and grandchildren growing up.
I bought this a year ago and over all I enjoy it, but the knob for different attachments falls off so easily which is frustrating. It fell off directly i to my scalding hot divinity mixture and into a different batter a couple times as well.
This mixer frightens me. The motor isn’t very strong and bread dough often stops the machine. And yes, I know not to crank it higher than #2. I don’t really recommend it. There is so much chatter online how unreliable this 6 qt machine is and how other brands works consistently better. Sad to say….
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mixer for awhile the only thing is it doesn’t mis up at the bottom of bowl. My daughter has a different model and hers works a lot better. Mine was suppose to be bigger but it doesn’t work as good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited years to get my own KitchenAid...I grew up using my grandmother's and it was a workhorse! I prefer her older style KitchenAid with the mixer arm that raises up, better than the style I bought where the bowl raises and lowers. It was easier to add ingredients and scrape the side of the bowl. Another issue I have with the new mixer is that I have to stop mixer to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl frequently because the beater or mixing blade do not quite get to the bottom, leaving unmixed ingredients. I think the instructions mentioned a way to adjust this, but I will have to go back and check. All this being said, I am still glad I bought a KitchenAid...it's more powerful than the other brand I replaced and can handle a large capacity of bread dough or cookie dough.
