Good mixer, but not as solid as the older version?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wouldn't buy any stand mixer other than a KitcheAid. This mixer replaces a 15 year old refurbished KitchenAid that we gifted to a member of our family. That said, the new mixer doesn't feel as "solid" as the old one, and it makes considerable straining noise, even at low power setting and load. I'm curious to see if it will stand the test of time, or if the 'whining' of the gears is a prelude to an early failure. I hope not!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it is better than our older 5 qt model. I do a lot of bread mixing and you are limited to the low speeds with the bread hook, as the dough develops the motor sounds like it is really working hard, which makes my a little nervous. Our old unit didn't seem to labor like this one does. I thought I would be blown away by the larger mixer but it's just kinda mediocre.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I lost my Kitchen Aid mixer in a house fire and over a year and a half later, moving back into the rebuilt house, this is one of the first countertop appliances that I have prioritized replacing. Although I have tried to be thrifty in replacing my possessions, there is no other substitute for me for a fantastic, reliable stand mixer than KA. For something that works so well is a joy to use. The same day of purchase, I used it to whip up all the ingredients such as whipped cream and egg white for a tiramisu, and it made the task so easy and impressive! My next task is to slowly replace all my accessories (meat grinder, pasta roller, etc) that I miss!
I would recommend this to a friend!
