I expected the soleplate to be non-stick or at least clean easily. I got some fusible web on it, and I cannot get it off with anything I've tried.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you have something on the soleplate of the iron, please turn the iron on and set it to high. Turn on the steam and iron a large towel, occasionally pumping the steam, as that should remove any residue you have on the soleplate. Please make sure not go over the same spot twice on the towel. We hope this helps!

The iron is nice, I love the longer shutoff time. The wider plate is good and the ceramic coating wipes off easily. The water tank does feel less secure than my old NI-WL600 and wiggles a bit more but it does NOT leak. I think I hold it differently because of the different size.

I’ve heard many quilters mention how much they like this iron, so when my old iron broke, it was an easy decision to get the Panasonic cordless iron. The base sits easily on the end if my ironing board and I really like the iron being cordless. It takes a minute to get used to “docking” the iron instead of standing it up, but other than that it’s great. It stays hot, steams well, and is great for both quilting and everyday ironing. I’m a fan!

This iron is incredible for quilting. It has a perfect point on it to get into tight seams. Heats up very quickly and retains heat very well. Very pleased.

The new Panasonic cordless iron with ceramic plate is a joy to use. It heats quickly and is HOT, and stays hot long enough to press several seams.
My only concern is that the water tank connection back to the iron is a little wobbly.
I would recommend this to a friend!
