Fan recirculation is poor

I bought this black Broan 413623 non-vented hood to replace my old white Broan non-vented range hood to match my new black appliances. The 40-year old hood worked much better in recirculating the air than the new one I bought in July, 2022. The new one has such poor air circulation that I barely hear it or feel it blowing out the exhaust duct. It does not do a good job in recycling the fumes from the stove because the fan and/or filter is poorly designed. Can anything be done to increase the amount of air recirculation? I'm very disappointed with this model which is the direct replacement for the one I had in white. Though the fan is inadequate, the light is nice and the hood looks nice in black.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit replaced an older Broan range fan (different colors).
I expected a quick remove the old screws, and install the new unit in less than half an hour. Instead it took almost 2 hours to get the new one installed.
Why?? Because some stupid designer or engineer decided to re-locate the holes for the screws in the new one.
None of the screw holes in the old unit matched those in the new one. I had to drill new holes through the metal with one hand while trying to hold the unit up into position with my other hand!

Had I known about this before I bought it, I would have bought some other brand. VERY disappointed in the installation process!

This range hood was a replacement of a 25 year old Broan unit which was still working fine ! We had changed all other appliances to black and wanted this to match. New unit is quieter than the previous unit and we expect to get many years of use as with the 25 year old original ! Due to some slight changes in mounting hole location, I did need to drill two new holes, but that was no problem. Thanks for a great product Broan !!

In 1995 we bought our home. Soon thereafter, we purchased a "silver" Broan under cabinet hood, (non-ducted), We used it for 21 yrs. & it was still working fine!! We only replaced it because we now needed a "white" one to match our new refrigerator & range. I don't recall what brand the original vented one was. But, a sm. family of mice used the vented under cabinet hood, as an entranceway into our "newly purchased home". lol...
The price of our new Broan was excellent. I am anticipating it to last for many yrs. to come, just like the original one did. Thank u for your product's reliability!!!
