I bought a blue one it sounds surprisingly louder compared to it's size.

This speaker is much more easier to sync than than the flip 3, it also has a longer battery. The fact that its water proof and durable only confirms my loyalty to JBL products!

I got my JBL flip 4 because I saw someone with it in the park. They were playing music from it, and I couldn't believe how good it sounds and how attractive it looks. It literally fits in my pocket and packs a loud punch. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I got mine at PC Richard. I think it's louder than the beats pill.

Awesome for the boat or golf cart

I bought the Flip4 prior to our lake vacation and use on the boat. It's great and plenty loud! It's also great in the golf cart if you like to listen while golfing.

Better Than Previously Owned Speakers

This is better than other speakers I have owned, is louder, works better, and is better looking :) I love the fact that it goes under water, that really comes in clutch since I'm always at a lake or pool in the summer. It connects quickly using Bluetooth and the Connect+ features. It's small and light which makes it easier for travel. It's very loud so I can hear it through my whole house but it doesn't make the music sound gritty, still very clear at loud volumes. And honestly I just love the colors it comes in. Would definitely recommend to a friend! (Actually I already have)

Perhaps I'm missing something, but despite all I've read, the JBL Connect app only displays the firmware version of my Flip 4. Nowhere does it allow me to update it. Would've given 5 stars if I were able to update the firmware.
DURABILITY
All in all, this unit is pretty durable; however, the bass 'radiators' located on either end of the unit are unprotected and appear very vulnerable. As a result, you can definitely "see the bass" as I believe I saw mentioned in one of JBL's marketing points for the Flip 4, but I'd prefer a little more protection around these. Only time will tell.

SOUND QUALITY
I've experienced a wide array of Bluetooth speakers from many different price points, and in my opinion this is by far THE BEST sounding portable Bluetooth speaker $99 can buy. While the bass isn't heart pounding, it's the best I've heard from this size of speaker in the $99 price range. The highs are crisp and the midrange clear and undistorted, even at high volume.

Amazing speaker!

Received this speaker as a safety bonus from my employer.
I was sceptical but ended up amazed at its quality of sound and battery life.
I've stopped using my outdoor home speakers since it is so handy and easy.
I highly recommend it.
