Horribly loud startup sound

The overall quality of the Flip 4 is great. However, the most noteworthy "feature" of this device is a bad one. The sounds the speaker makes on startup and shutdown are so loud and jarring that I often choose to not use the speaker in certain situations to avoid disturbing people with that startling sound. If I had known sooner that this feature couldn't be disabled, I would not have bought this speaker. Unless JBL makes a firmware update that can disable this noise, I cannot recommend the Flip 4 to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got this as a last minute Christmas gift for my son and he loves it! He can use it in the backyard while swimming, playing basketball at the park, and just about anywhere! Great product!

Great portable speaker!

This was a Christmas gift, which was to replace my speaker cube. Although a bit bigger, it is still a compact speaker with a big speaker sound. Rich sounds with plenty of volume. I love it, especially for the price. Fabulous!!
