When Execution Beats Feature Hype

I do not buy personal care products lightly. I spent hours researching before making this purchase. Too much time! I compared specs, watched reviews, read forums, and seriously considered several heavily promoted off brand models that claim more features for less money. Influencers, with all their videos made those alternatives tempting.
In the end, I chose the Panasonic Swipe Right.
The ARC 5 Palm Size made the decision harder because of its strong reputation, reviews, but the Swipe Right went on sale and I decided to see what Panasonic engineering could do at this size and price point. The ARC 5 portable is a lot more in cost too.
Here is the bottom line.
This is the closest electric shave I have ever had. It is shockingly close. I cannot imagine needing more closeness for daily use. For me, it approaches what I get from a careful wet shave with a double edge blade, and that is saying something.
It is also compact, balanced, and far better for travel than my previous Norelco. It disappears in a dopp kit and still performs like a full size shaver.
What impressed me most is not a flashy feature list. It is execution. It simply delivers where it matters: closeness, comfort, and consistency.
This review may dimmish the sales of the ARC 5, as I really can't see how it could perform better. If Panasonic believes the ARC 5 can raise the bar even further, I would genuinely be curious to test that claim side by side and post a review. Until then, the Swipe Right has earned its place in my routine. I think I real user who is not an influencer has more credibility than some of the influencers.
For anyone hesitating because of the noise in the market, take it from someone who did the research. Sometimes the right choice is not the loudest one.

It works great, it's small, and way better than I anticipated.
Instructions say you can wash it with some liquid soap, and water, which is great.
2 stars knocked off because the lid is plastic, and if you use it, and stash it away for travel, the lid starts to smell like rotting flesh. It's super gross.

I purchased this on the sale and after using it I was glad I didn't pay original price. Panasonic is a benchmark company for many items and I just figured this would be another one. It works decently but it definitely has issues and I would say it's particular to hair length and maybe areas. I was considering buying the more expensive version which is more than double the retail price of the one I purchased because I can not see it being worth that much more but hopefully I am wrong. I am just not willing to take the chance.

Surprisingly very powerful electric razor. Good battery size, cutting smooth and nice, goes easily through few days facial hair, no irritation on my sensitive skin. The only minor issue I'm aware of, is the swipe sensor feature, it works with no issue on dry, but when you in shower and holding razor with wet hands.. sometimes takes two attempts to stop the razor. Though on the other hand, this perfectly sealed and waterproof solution of the razor in compare to regular buttons, when the rubber seal takes places and over time becomes less waterproof
