A set that exceeds expectations

I bought this set purely to get the Gringotts dragon. It was on my list of lego sets that I was really hoping would just be a smaller set. The bank itself would have been enough for me to buy this set, but once I saw that it had the underground rails attached I was sold. The building techniques are unique and it went by very fast. I recommend watching the movies while building this set, and I assure you that you will have a good time. If you are a Harry Potter fan, save up for this. I would still get Hogwarts before this, but this is in second place for the sets.

Disappointing

This set was sub lego quality, especially for the price point. Although it has a good peice count there were a lot of flaws. It seriously felt like the design group wasn't trying with this one compared to the quality of other recent sets. Much of the design was copied and pasted from other modular builds (the hotel in particular) and all of the architecture was off from the design of grengrots in the movies and the park. Windows are off-center, signage has laughable spacing, and walls are in places I only imagine were placed for convenience as they have no relevance to the bank depicted in the wizarding world. Also, there is just a surprising lack of detail if you look closely at the bank facade. This feels like a Lego set from 2010. The vault system is actually quite cool but frustrating as I don't know what to do with it while displaying the bank with the rest of Diagon Ally.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good build, but….

Overall good build, but a couple of the stickers did not com off the paper correctly. The sticky side stayed on the sticker sheet, but the part with the print came off.

Perfect Harry Potter Addition

This is magnificent. I purchased Hedgwig for this Christmas for my adult daughter who displays the Harry Potter themed Legos in her home. This was a limited edition so I purchased for next year’s Christmas when her son will be a little older and they can build and display it beautifully! It will stand nearly 3’ tall!!

Awesome Gringotts Bank

Ok, so first off I'm late reviewing this awesome set because I first had to build the Diagon Alley set that I had originally ordered. And well you can't have the whole set without Gringotts so I ordered it. The detail on this set is just fantastic, like you guys really amaze me with the things you create. I tried to build this set slowly so I could enjoy putting it together. I love to watch how other peoples minds think. My hats off to those that came up with this. It has been a joy for the whole family as I put this together. The top is super heavy and it's just magic how the bottom holds it up. I think the way there are little things like hidden items in the walls is just fabulous. I also want to thank my son who oversees my work and if it wasn't for him I would never have gotten into legos. Who knew that 19 years ago when I started buying these wonderous toys for him that I would fall in love and keep purchasing them. I thought the dragon would have been harder to put together but to my wonder it was actually not that hard and it looks great sitting up on top.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to assemble and a very well thought out set. I think the price point is a little to high but that just my opinion. It is a great display if you are a potter collector
