Building experience: apart from the 40+ stickers this is perfect it's so nice to see this come together and u get a lot of minifigures, awesome building techniques in the proces and a lot of stuf to build. Play experience: this set (just like the other ninjago modulairs) is so fun to play with like all of these awesome minifigures and the cable car is amazing. not to mention: A flushable/working toilet, it's amazing and the value is insane like : insane good minifigures like cirus borg. and u get such a big thing and a tot of pieces for this amount is insane. rating: 10.98763518/10.
The build on this set when compared to the other Ninjago City sets is not as good but you will still walk away happy. Lego really tried to push the envelop with this build and I applaud that but if they had pulled back just a bit this would have been a better set. It is however, still a really fun set even with drawbacks.
Some of the colors used can be hard to differentiate when trying to build, some of the instructions are a little fiddly, some instructions don't seem as logical in their order as other sets. I wouldn't recommend this set for anything other than a teen or older for assembly but at this price point, that's probably a given.
Some parts of the model seem overly constructed while others seem to barely be hanging together. The wheel chair lift is clunky and fragile, the lift crank for the rail should have been improved etc. But the base of each "tower" has an infinite amount of technic parts all pinned together for no other purpose than support.
Some sections don't have as great a playability as you might want. The room with bunk beds doesn't even really have space for a mini to stand in the room and while the lack of security on the top bunk allows someone to sleep a mini fig on each bed for play, the bed is soon rattling around in the house any way.
I am also not sure how I feel about the "pull out" rooms vs the more traditional "lift off" rooms for the modular aspect. I think it might increase playability and it might help to allow for more creativity by the designers but... I am just not sure how I feel about this change.
It is a good set with a lot of creativity and boundary pushing, even some creative brick usage. But it missed the 5 star mark for me, especially at this price point and knowing what the last two sets were like.
I loved building this set it was so much fun. It also comes with so many minifigs. I was watching Ninjago as building this and this is my favorite set I own.
Ninjago city markets is another great set from these ninjago city sets! It’s really big size caught me off guard! Build and functions are spectacular! Great set overall (PLEASE MAKE D2C BORG TOWER PLEASE MAKE D2C BORG TOWER PLEEEEEEAAASSSEEE!!!!!!!)
This was an excellent build. It did take me a while to finish just because it was so big. But I put it next to the Lego City Gardens and they complement each other so well. I highly recommend getting this if you already have the City Gardens or any other tileable set that goes with this theme. I would put a photo in but I am writing this review on my computer.
Oh my god, best Ninjago set I’ve ever built. This thing is huge! Absolutely massive, lots and of details, great minifigures, and it goes nicely with the city gardens. Highly Highly recommend.
