I am absolutely amazed by the amount of detail put into this set! I knew this was gonna be a big seller so I made sure I was prepared because it was also Black Friday. I was on the website at midnight and even though checkout was a little tricky. I didn't have much of a problem getting my set or the three online free gift with purchases. Thank you so much Lego for another great build!!
As the title suggests the absolute best part about this build is the fact there are absolutely no stickers just printed pieces. Thank you Lego and please continue this trend.
Addressing the elephant in the room. The infamous lifeboat promotion. I was fortunate enough to notice they opened the site to VIP member's around 11:30pm the night before the release and knew it was going to go quickly after seeing a tremendous uptick in traffic around midnight. This is when I first noticed the queues on the website.
That said, if you didn’t act early or visit a store in person you probably lucked out. I sympathize for the unfortunate many having been on that side several times with Lego promotions, most often Star Wars.
Admittedly, they should have included the lifeboat with the ship as the two share quite a special history. It’s also worth mentioning the lifeboat is the only way to get characters with the build which is not cool Lego.
It’s my hope that if enough passionate Lego patrons ban together maybe it will encourage Lego to sell the Lifeboat as an accessory to the Endurance as it’s quite an iconic display.
Definitely one of my favorite builds of all time. Lego really knocked it of the park with this one.
I have found many Lego products that are great for my girls to build with me, and I am sure this will be no exception. We have so many in process that I am not sure we'll get them done; actually, we know we won't because something new will come out and draw our attention. What I like even more is the chance to display these in my office, especially when a lot of hands have had a part in the build.
While I am not necessarily interested in the special builds that come with some of the sets (the D&D set, this one), I can at least sympathize with the reviewers that are frustrated with the lost chance for something that they can add and tell a story with, in this case the lifeboat, which may in fact have far more import for the survival of the crew than the ship itself.
I did observe at least in a few cases, the Endurance (and the lifeboat, I believe), already for sale on 3rd party sites prior to the official launch. I can only assume, as is the case with ticket sales, that the development of software allows some buyers the chance to score multiple purchases, locking out those seeking the combination.
If I might suggest, limiting the set to one per buyer, at least in the first 24-48 hours, and perhaps even sending an access code to interested buyers (one each), might be a way to limit those seeking profit over (or at least in addition to) the great products you make. Nothing can stop all manipulation, but there may be ways to reduce it.
This has to be one of the most iconic, most detailed lego set 👏 Such a breathtaking build once complete. Highly recommend this for Lego lobbyists and fanatics
My husband and I got the endurance and botanical garden with our wedding gift money during Thanksgiving week/Black Friday in store. While building the endurance, he watched the documentary and it took it to a whole other level. He finished it in one day (11/30/24). It looks incredible on top of his bar area. He absolutely loves it. I’d dare say it’s his favorite build! I do agree with others though regarding the GWP. We were told at the store it was the 2nd to last ship they had left AND they may be out of the gift with purchase Shackleton boat. We both looked at each other like are you serious? A GWP with the ship purchase shouldn’t run out if you still have the big ship. Makes no sense. That shouldn’t be the case at all. We wouldn’t have purchased it that day if they’d been out. I did not like that at all and neither did he.
I really wanted this set with the shackleton lifeboat... to find out that it was not available. No lifeboat... no money. Plus fix your website when there is a lot of traffic. We should not have to wait an hour to purchase anything. No other retailers have this issue. Lego better get it together.
