The SEAL Pup with the hard nylon sheath makes the perfect combination for many hunting, camping, and ranching utilitarian needs. It is my go-to tool in the side pocket of my pickup for many ranching functions down to the detail of cutting the webbing off of round bales. It works equally well for leg and back joint separations for field dressing and processing larger game with the benefit of the tapered clip point. Due to the excellent sheath, many uses, ease of sharpening, and great price, I have 8-10 of these knives for my many uses and never have to go looking for the one knife. Besides, who wants just one knife?
I bought my Seal Pup many years ago, and I carried it on every deployment and every jump that I made. When my M-4 failed to fire, the knife did not. My only complaint is that the sheath has over the years gotten a tad loose and developed a rattle. In this line of work, noises like that are definitely a no-go, so had to purchase a different one that doesn't work as well, but it's at least quiet.
I just received my Seal Pup and have not used it yet, but it feels good in my hand and can’t start using it when I can get outside to use it on a regular basis
While this is not a full tang knife, it has a blade which he both straight and serrated edges, which delivers terrific utility. And the sheath has positive retention via both snap and hook and loop, which means that the knife won’t go missing when the going gets rough. Highly recommended.
I bought a Seal Pup to replace the one that was lost after hitting an IED north of Baghdad. This knife performs better than previous knives I owned. It went with me everywhere. I missed it so much that I bought this replacement.
