I’m a middle-aged guy who loved building castle and forest men sets back in the day. I hesitated because of the price when I first saw this set, but I’m so glad I pilled the trigger! I got to relive some great childhood memories while also sharing those with my daughters who helped me build it. However, this is NOT just a nostalgia grab! This is a complex, brilliant, and lovingly designed set!

I absolutely love this set! Building it was a blast and after I finished it looks great on display! I love all the details and all the small touches! The only thing I can say against it is that I don’t like the ratio of female soldiers to male soldiers. I would rather have all men besides one or two females. It would be more historically accurate if there was almost only men but I understand that it is a toy. Over all amazing set and I can’t wait to see if Lego makes one for other factions!

The architecture behind the castle is amazing and displays pretty nice, the minifigures included and animals are a great addition to the set

Good but I had some problems

I really love legos, and this time I had a problem of several pieces, just not being included in this set. I've never had a problem before with this. So i'm not sure what happened, but I had to order extra pieces several times

This is an awesome set and fun to build. Some of my favorite parts are the workable drawbridge, drop down gate with a brake, and the back door that goes up and down. Some of my favorite rooms are the kitchen (with the use of an Iron Man repulser piece as flowing water), the mill with the workable water wheel, and the completely hidden Forest Guardians room. I also really like the escape out the back of the jail cell. I like that you can send people to the dungeon by raising the drawbridge. I like the minifigs and that the horses stand on their hind legs, but I wish they would stand better on all 4 legs. But overall this is an awesome set!
