The new castle was a pleasure to build. The steps were very well paced, especially for the first section. The second, main entrance section contained a few cumbersome bags that took a long time to get through. It is a highly rewarding build. Many of the characters are women. The sturdy and solid construction features a lot of pleasurable medieval architectural features of process and building technique. The amount of classic brick building is satisfying and extensive. The programmatic flow between spaces is intricate and winding, and very much breaks the typical grid. There are several spaces with no realistic access, however.
This castle is incredibly detailed and jam-packed with interiors and easter eggs. My 3 complaints are the high price point, plain Majisto, and how this set comes with so many female soldiers. I get that you can change the heads to make them male soldiers, but it's such a hassle ordering more for an already super expensive set.
This was my first ever Lego Castle experience and I always had a smile on my face building. All the techniques combined with details makes this one hard to top… but I hope they do soon
It was a great build honestly I wouldn’t have thought of some of the building techniques used and it made me very happy I built it in one go and it was a fun long while to build itself. I added it to my castle table and it’s a great addition. Honestly if I was younger I would have loved to play with it as it has a ton of play featuresb
There are so many amazing techniques they did to make the bridge ways continue to function when opened and closed. Top 3 build of all time for sure! Great call backs to the earlier sets and some fun hidden details!
The Lego Castle line was one of, if not the first Lego sets I've ever received as a kid back in the early 2000s and this set is everything I would want and more.
You get an amazingly detailed and complex Castle build with over TWENTY Minifigures, you almost never see that many in a set of this kind.
Honestly, I see all the reviews complaining about the Price, but I guess as someone who comes mainly from the Star Wars line of Legos the Price per Piece count is on par so it didn't bother me, you get 3x the amount of Minifigures any Star Wars set would for a Price that's more than fair for 4.5k pieces.
All in all, it's a fantastic set, and I hope this becomes popular enough that Lego would try renewing the Castle line for another run.
