Lion Knight kingdom

Love this set, I bought it for my son for his birthday but for the life of me,
I can't understand why this set doesn't come with a king. You cant have a Kingdom without a King.

Awesome except

This is an amazing build and I love the look and feel of the castle.
My knock down is for Lego to please stop shoving gender politics down our throat. Yes I want boys and girls to play with Lego. Lego can very easily print the Lego minifigures heads with female on one side and male on the other. My wife said ( I don't want most of my knights to be girls. Just give the builder a choice then.
I loved that there was zero stickers in this set. I liked the size and shape of the castle. The draw Bridge could have used some wood planks to make it pop. The flags were very nice. All in All a A+.

Hours of Storytelling- - Where's the Forestmen?

The amount of times I exclaimed "That's so cool" while building this set, especially in the first half of the build. I LOVE that this castle is run and protected by all these ladies in armor. Thank you for providing the representation for Lego-loving girls. I really liked how it came with more Black Falcon soldiers (idk if that's the correct name) and that I could pair them with the ones from last year's Blacksmith set. It made the Falcon soldier posse look more like a possible threat to the Lion Knights with two more members and a wagon full of weapons.
There's so many fun rooms to play and create stories in. Though some of the details are lost unless you look really close, especially in the bottom rooms if you're interacting with the model at a lower table rather than a raised shelf.
The only reason I'm taking off a star is that I pre-ordered it as a VIP, online and it didn't come with the Forestmen Hideout set that was being offered as a free promo at the time. I was really looking forward to adding this to the world surrounding this castle as another visual story layer so I was pretty bummed.

Such a great build, incredible amount of detail, I highly suggest building this over the course of a week and savoring each bag you go through - it’s a blast!

Almost perfect

This castle is super cool. I love it. So many cool little features that the pictures that Lego put up don't do it justice. Some really fun steps in the build proccess too. I loved how the back steps came together. There are lots of details and unfortunately, some are hard to see once the build is complete, like the bats in the cave under the castle and the secret room. I really like the nod to the original yellow castle they threw in. Would love to see a re-make of that yellow castle with grey bricks, or just a re-release. It was a very unique set (I still have mine) with what is now considered an "illegal" build step.
A few things I didn't care for:
- The wizard isn't detailed at all
- Only 1 horse. Really Lego?
- The blue color of the water, doesn't match my other blue plates.
- I personally can't stand the pieces that are "pre-built", like item # 4211564 and 6272132. Just give me the pieces to build those.
- The draw bridge and front ramp are just kinda, meh, in my opinion.

That's really all I didn't care too much for, and those are not deal breakers at all. Overall just a really fun build and what a cool castle. Would love to see an expansion set for this (maybe a stable, some shops, etc), and more castle series sets in general, as I am a SUCKER for Lego castle sets and Star Wars sets.

The childhood I always wanted

I am so amazed at the detail and world this set creates. I grew up playing with Lego for hours and hours. I made stop motions as a kid, but this set, is the childhood I never had. My parent didn't buy me big sets or any of the set I always wanted growing up. This set now feels like my inner child healing, building, and playing in the worlds always trapped in my head. This is a magnificent set and I thank Lego for finally making a set so detailed and playable that even as an adult I feel more complete for spending way too much of a paycheck on this set.

Fantastic Castle

When I heard the anniversary set was a castle, I was pumped! The set, build, and number of mini figures did not disappoint! I loved the build and am actually a little sad that it's done, I looked forward to every step! A couple of minor things; the front ramp, as others have already stated, doesn't seem to "fit". With as much detail that the put into this set, it just isn't up to par with the rest of the set. Also, not to beat that dead horse, but why are most of the knights female? I'm not anti-women, and believe they could have incorporated women in another way, but historically, knights were men. And when you think of a castle, you think of a King. Why no king? I would really love an add-on type of offer for a king in these colors.
I would recommend this to a friend!
