Medieval Madness

This set is absolutely amazing in every regard. A lot of detail and care has been put into every aspect. The build was excellent and really enjoyed all the Easter eggs found throughout, sliding rocks, door, the mechanisms for the drawbridge etc.. My only feedback to Lego is to make more castle, medieval sets. The medieval blacksmith and lion knights castle are amongst the best in recent memory.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Spectacular set, though a bit pricey

The Lion's Knight Castle joins the Harry Potter Hogwart's Castle, and Brinklink's limited edition Lowenstein Castle as my favorite Lego Castle builds. While not the most challenging set to put together, there were certainly some fun 'a-ha' moments with secret doors, and the Portcullis and drawbridge. The attention to detail is fantastic, and the inclusion of the Harpsichord had me researching when they first appeared (1600's). My only criticisms are that I would have liked to see a Medieval Toilet room (kind of expected it as bathrooms/toilets have been included with more recent Modular builds, and Castle toilets are very unique in their placement), and I wish the Castle entrance ramp was done in a way that would allow Mini-figures to be placed (fine for play, but would have been nice for display). All in all, a wonderful set.

Lion Knight Castle Icon set 10305

Really a well thought out set. Tons of details, playability and hidden secrets. Architecture is great, and the storylines connect to the older lion, black falcon and forest men sets.

Great set! Could've been a smidge more awesome

I almost left a 5 star review when I was only half finished building the set. This castle is fantastic. It's fun to build, looks great, and the play features are marvelous. My only complaints are quibbles. I wish the set included a couple of the new-ish candelabra pieces. The number of female fig heads is welcome, but having them as soldiers in a European middle ages set feels anachronistic. If LEGO were going for diversity, including figs with other skin tones would've been nice. There is no printing or stickers for the drawbridge; it's rather plain. It's a little sad how this set treats Majisto. He used to be a powerful wizard in a lofty tower and with his own workshop. Now he has a cave across from the dungeon and doesn't even have printed parts. I'm also disappointed (but not surprised) that LEGO didn't resurrect the infamous goat for their big 90th anniversary set. Like I said, though, quibbles. I enjoyed building this set and am looking forward to playing with it with my children when they're older.
