Have fun stormin the castle!

Where do I even begin? Everything about this set is over the top, my favorite features were the hidden rooms and passages, plus a functional toilet to boot. There are much better lengthy reviews online for this set, but as an average builder I can say this is well worth the money. Building it was alone worth it, many unique parts usages.It has something for everyone and now it can be enjoyed for years and hopefully generations.

One of top sets I have built, it was fun from beginning to end! It was well designed, and attractive, easily accessible using hinges to enter play areas, and having the fun of hidden room surprises and offering the great learning experience of learning from an obvious master builder. Great job Lego!

This set is incredible! All the details are fun to build and the way the entire castle opens up, and all the doors/drawbridge makes this a cool set to show off. It's so massive, I don't have a proper place to display it yet. Between this and the Medieval Blacksmith, I'm really glad Lego is making awesome 18+ castle/Medieval themed sets again. I can't wait to see more in the future.

awesome set with a few minor flaws

Overall, this set is a masterpiece and top three sets I have built. there a few problems though like the fact that the treasure room is accessible from the dungeons. some of the rooms are hard to play with and all the awesome little details are hard to see. the golden frog is kind of confusing to me and i don't like the fact that almost all the characters are female. on the plus side I really like the hidden cave by the tree and how you open it. I also like the how the back steps where built. The set is eye catching and beautiful with lots of tiny details some I didn't notice until after completing the model like how if you put someone on the drawbridge and close it, they fall into the dungeons. I now this review sounded rather negative, but this set is incredible (nice job designers) and would recommend you by it if you like Lego and castles.

Nostalgic

Building this was nostalgic and brought me back to my youth, which seemed to be one of the main points of releasing this 90th anniversary Icon set. I really took my time building it over months. Very cool that it can open up or close and looks great in both positions. LEGO Castle and Pirate have been released somewhat recently and bring me back to my favorites as a kid. Now all we need is a new Western/Cowboy release please. A saloon would be awesome!
