Knob to turn on has been replaced 4 times

This is the fourth time that this knob has stripped and had to be replaced in the past two years. It’s starting to get a little expensive..

Weak dryer timer knob.

Knob of the dryer timer turns with difficulty, and a little over a year after I purchased it, it cracked and would not operate the timer. Unfortunately, I then made the mistake of using a pair of pliers to turn the timer switch. Eventually that switch broke off and I had to have the whole timer replaced, which proved an expensive repair.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Glad to see they are no longer making this item. Cannot handle larger loads/sheets and continuously overheats and turns off

I purchased this 5 days ago and love it...it fulfills all my needs. The 6 cu.ft. drum area works well for me, altho I have not yet dried large linens such as a blanket or bedspread but the drum area looks as big as my old 23 year old GE Dryer that I replaced. My husband wanted a digital, al- the-bells-and-whistles model but they were too large for our small area of space. We have a small hallway with the dryer on the left wall and the washer on the right and they are boxed in by walls; I consider us lucky that Hotpoint has made a small enough (outside measurements) dryer yet still large enough (inside) for my needs. Thank you, Hotpoint and GE.
