It took more than 6 mins to start boiling water the first time I tried it. I will continue to using it and see if that is it's normal time or if it improves

I’m not really happy with it right now because I can’t seem to get the rubbery smell out of the pitcher. I’ve tried everything listed in the manual as well as online. I’ve had it for over a week now and the water still smells like rubber after boiling.
It works well and I love the convenience but could you please contact me and tell me what other steps I can take to get rid of the smell?
