[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted to make my own pasta. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away before she was able to teach me, so when I received this pasta machine I was over the moon! It was really easy to set up and get it going and it also came with a little recipe booklet so I was able to use it right away. My grandma would spend hours and hours making her pasta, this machine cuts down the time dramatically. No painstakingly kneading the dough, this does it for you. I just made traditional spaghetti noodles to start and they turned out delicious. I’m already planning what I’m going to make next. I love this machine and how easy it is to use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once you put the ingredients in you have pasta in a few minutes. The machine will keep running and there is some dough that is still trying to get extruded. It seems like you would want to shut it off, but you should keep letting it run because it needs to run for the full cycle. The directions are really confusing. It look me longer to figure out what to do then to actually have the pasta come out of the machine. All the pieces can be washed so cleanup is a breeze. It is a pretty cool kitchen gadget.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We probably tried 5-6 different pasta recipes and could not get it right. I know this isn’t a review of the machine but if I can’t figure out how to use it properly with the directions then I’m not going to use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pasta and noodle maker from Philips Viva collections is the next best thing!
Every household should have it. It is versatile, and making different shapes of pasta as well as noodles has never been easier. I love it mostly because at least I know it's home made. It's also easy to wash and take care of. Great quality and the pieces were sturdy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love pasta in our house and homemade pasta Is the best but can be alot of work. My Phillips pasta maker makes it easier and less messy. All you do is add ingredients and let the machine do the work. It has a neat little pull out compartment to store your disks and is not bulky so easy to store or let set on the counter. Clean up is a breeze and it makes noodles perfectly the bonus Is it comes with a booklet giving your recipes for all types of noodles!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really happy with this pasta maker. It is so easy and actually fun to use. I love fresh pasta. Once you make fresh pasta you won't go back to the pre-made dried pasta you're used to buying. I can't wait to make more kinds.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For pasta I have been making dough, roll it out, run it through a pasta machine etc-method.But in this Philips pasta maker machine-put the ingredients and push a button and fresh pasta is ready. The best automatic kitchen machine I have ever purchased. I can’t stop making pasta! It’s very easy to use and I love not having to wait for the pasta to rest and I really love not having to hand knead it. The pasta is ready almost by the time the water boils. This pasta maker sounds like a one trick pony. I have flavored the pastas and changed up the shape for variety. Fresh pasta is so superior to boxed stuff. It is so satisfying to watch the noodles being extracted from the dye. Simple operation and construction, so easy and worth every penny! I am buying the additional attachments so I can make lasagnes and raviolis next. I really recommend this machine to the pasta lovers.
We had a pasta machine for years that was very noisy and hard to make consistent pasta. It died. We tried three other machines that cost at least $100 more than this HR2371. This machine is easier and better than any of the four, by far.
Some hints for this (and other) pasta machines. The spikes mentioned in another review are because the dough was too dry. Their recipe does not work with the Italian semolina that I use, either. Always have extra water and dry flour handy when making the pasta. There is a "perfect" moisture, but getting that throughout a batch may take some adjustment. You can get the right moisture to start (no spikes) and have big clumps of dough at the end that need to be pulled apart and some dry flour sprinkled on the smaller balls. It's not that hard with this machine, which sets it apparent from the others that require the same kind of adjustments. (I always add 1 egg yoke to the water. This enriches the dough and makes a stronger noodle. My saffron pasta is a major hit, btw.)
