I received the Phillips pasta maker to review and I am very impressed. The machine looks great, is super easy to use, and is very quiet. I simply loaded the mixing compartment with ingredients and turned on the machine. It mixes and shapes the pasta all with the push of one button. Cleaning was easy, with a quick soak in soapy water and the handy tools included, it was done in no time. The machine feels very sturdy and is made of nice quality materials. It doesn't feel flimsy at all. I love that I can sneak some extra nutrition in for my kids that I can't with boxed noodles.
Philips gave me this product to review and I absolutely love it. It makes delicious pasta in just a few minutes. My kids love watching the dough mix and the pasta come out. I won't be buying dry noodles again when I can make it fresh so easily now. I only wish that it was a bit bigger. With a hungry husband and 2 kids I usually have to make 2 full batches to feed everyone.
Philips gave me this product to review and I used it a few times to make pasta for my family of four. The appliance was easy to set-up and was smaller than I expected. I read through the manual thoroughly before starting which I recommend as there are some things to take note of before starting to make the pasta.
I liked that there were recipe suggestions for different types of pasta, including vegetable pasta and different flour types. I chose to use all purpose flour in my pasta recipes as it is what I had on hand. The recipes were easy to follow and the process was pretty fast. I tired both penne noodles and spaghetti noodles. At first the pasta come out a bit shaggy but then it starts to look nicer after a couple of minutes. I doubled the basic recipe as recommended in the instruction book and got more than enough pasta for a family of two adults and two young children.
This was my first time making fresh pasta but this machine made it easy. The penne pasta was a bit thick and chewy for my preference, my guess would be that this would be improved by trying different types of flour but I haven't had the chance to do that yet. The spaghetti pasta was a better texture for my liking. The taste was okay but nothing spectacular. Again, I think that using a different flour type would improve this as well.
I was not looking forward to the clean up process as the appliance has a lot of small pieces but it actually went rather smoothly. There wasn't much left over pasta dough in the machine, what was left was fairly easy to scrape off the pieces. The cleaning tools proved to be very helpful in getting the dough out of the small holes and creases. I found hat the clean up went faster when I removed the dough as much as possible before getting the parts wet.
Overall, I'm impressed with this product. For its size and cost it does a good job at making quick, fresh pasta. I'm looking forward to trying some new recipes to change the flavours of the pasta.
Philips gave me the opportunity to try the Philips Pasta Maker and I am so happy they did! This machine is amazing! I can't believe how easy it is to make pasta from scratch. Not only regular spaghetti but all sorts of different recipes (spinach pasta, yum!). I've tried manual pasta makers and got frustrated with having to roll the dough flat and get it through the Maker, so I rarely used them. The Philips Pasta Maker does everything for you; all you have to do is put the ingredients in. I also love how quick it is. It takes me roughly 10 minutes to make a batch for me and my children. It's easy to assemble and disassemble, and cleans well. It only takes me a few minutes to tidy up after using it which is important because I appreciate a machine which is easy to clean up. I would really recommend this to anyone! It's a great and easy way to have fun with your pasta dinners.
Pros: attractive design, easy to use, good for anyone, easy cleanup
Philips sent me this product to review. The pasta maker came well packaged, and it was easy to unpack (sometimes they really make you work for it!). I was impressed right away with the size, I don’t have a lot of counter space so the compact model was great for me!
The instructions were very clear and I was able to quickly combine the ingredients without having to mix them myself. I’m used to using the pasta maker attachment for my mother’s kitchen aid stand mixer and spending about two hours mixing and rolling it out just right. And while I’ll still have to do that for lasagna noodles, It’s great to know I’ll never have to struggle with half cut spaghetti ever again!
Making and cooking the pasta with the Philip’s pasta maker doesn’t take much more time than boiling a box of store bought pasta!
This will definitely be a heavily used appliance in my kitchen, I look forward to trying different combinations, and I will recommend it to any friend that asks!
Philips gave me this product to review and I absolutely love it!! It's so easy to use and so quick. It honestly takes about the same amount of time to make fresh pasta in the Philips pasta maker and cook it as it does to boil a box of the store bought stuff, and it tastes so much better! Im really enjoying testing out all of the different recipes it came with. So far the spinach has been a big hit, and as a mom of 2 year old twin boys anytime I can sneak fresh spinach into something they already like is a huge win for me. The only thing I'd like to see would be additional pasta discs (lasagna and macaroni especially) then I would never have to buy another box of pasta again.
Pros: easy, quick, convenient, delicious fresh pasta
Philips gave me the opportunity to try the Philips Pasta Maker and we love it! My twin sons, aged 3.5, have enjoyed helping me make pasta with this Pasta Maker. The scoops that come with it make it simple to make pasta. As a bonus the components are dishwasher safe making clean up very easy. This is an appliance that will get a lot of use in our house.
Pros: easy to use, dishwasher safe, comes with a recipe book
Cons: storage compartment is too small to store scoops
