All Good Things Take Time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There's a bit of a learning curve with the Mr. Coffee Steam Espresso, Cappuccino, and Latte Maker, that took a bit to master. I'm still not sure that I have. As the name suggests, you're able to create delicious espresso, cappuccinos, and lattes once you put together your machine. It's parts include the machine itself, a coffee scoop, a metal frothing cup, water reservoir cap, extra large portafilter, water measuring pitcher, and a removable frothing wand cover.
The directions seem simple enough but there were some hurdles I had to overcome. Attaching the portafilter (the part that holds the coffee) was really hard to do. It took so many attempts and when I finally had it, it took a lot of strength to make sure it was properly affixed. Also, it's not an automatic machine. The settings are simply, "Steam, Off, and Brew". It seems that one would need a bit more help and instruction, especially if you have never made coffee with this type of machine. However, I persevered.
For me the most worrisome part was frothing milk and knowing when to halt the brewing process to begin. Again, this is an automatic machine and you control everything. There are no prompts to tell you when to begin or stop each step. The only way you know if you are correctly frothing milk is by the sounds the frothing wand makes while in the milk. A few bells or whistles would have greatly affected my success at making coffee. It took me three tries to do it right.
I think this machine is certainly something that anyone can learn to use, and use well if you're already in the know about how to make a killer cappuccino or you've got time and patience to learn. Unfortunately I am not a fast learner so I don't see myself taking the time to understand it's directions and sounds.
What you get is a well made, perfectly serviceable, piece of equipment that does what it says it will do, after a couple of bumps in the road. However, once you understand the machine you will brew perfectly lovely cups of delicious coffee with the help of the recipes in the back.

Good value for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start by saying that for the price, it's a total steal! But, like with anything super affordable, there are a few things to keep in mind. First off, this machine is built pretty light. It’s mostly thin plastic and it feels a bit cheap. Not exactly the sturdy espresso maker I was hoping for. The other thing that surprised me was how tricky it was to use at first. There weren't a ton of instructions, and it took some fiddling to get the hang of it. I definitely recommend watching some YouTube videos for tips before you dive in.
All in all, this espresso maker is a good option if you're on a tight budget and want to try your hand at making espresso at home. Just be prepared for a little bit of a learning curve.

An excellent espresso maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mr. Coffee Steam Espresso Maker does an excellent job of making 2 or 4 shots of espresso and steams milk very well! The part where you put the espresso is really hard to unlock and take off especially when the machine is hot right after you make a shot, but you have to take it off to release the pressure if you need to add more water to forth more milk or to make another shot for someone else.
