I bought this for my son for his first fixed blade knife. For the price you can't beat it. I see other reviews saying it's cheap or they bent it but I can't imagine what they tried to do with it. My son has carved wood with it thrown it at ply wood and cut plastic, cardboard, cloth and god knows what else with it and I've only had to help him touch up the blade once. Not bad for a knife I got on sale for $20.

Great knife for the right price

Picked this up on a whim because it was on sale for $20 at Bass Pro Shops and came with a MACV pry bar. For the price it's a great budget knife - nothing special, but certainly not bad. I somehow managed to find one labeled as 8cr13mov as opposed to the current model made with cheaper 7cr17mov steel. If it was made in America with better steel I'd definitely pay more for this design.

Lacking a good sheath

I really like the knife, but it lacks a good sheath. I don't care for the plastic sheath.The knife is top shelf, exactly what I would want. It is useless without a good sheath. Sorry, I'm just being truthful. I give the design and durability only 2 stars due to the sheath.

After losing everything I owned to a wildfire, I wanted a quality fixed blade for utility use. This knife was used for everything from kitchen duty to repairs on an old R.V. that was our temporary home for a few months. Great knife, comfortable to use and very durable.

Some cheap knives are made out of junk and made to look pretty, but don't hold up to life, others are made out of good sturdy materials but hold off on the bells and whistles. So far, my only complaints are that the machining is a tad (and I mean just a TAD) shoddy. But nothing that can't be fixed with an hour and a good stone. Comes out of the package plenty sharp, but can take and hold a razors edge. The sheath looks a little . . . weak, but so far it has held up well and it holds onto the knife. Like I said it is a darn good little knife, and for the money and with a little bit of touch up, it quickly turns into an excellent knife.

I had seen this knife at my local Walmart Store several weeks ago and had decided I wanted one for my collection. I have several fixed bladed knives but I wanted a SOG. The knife is light and strong and came very sharp out of the package. I really like the rubber grips. The fit my hand very well and are so comfortible. The blade is stone washed and sharp. My sheath is a camo colored and hard plastic. The clip is partially open at the bottom and can be slipped onto my belt or pants pocket. This my first SOG but not my last. I would recomend this knife to all the other collectors out there.
