I switched over from an Apple Watch and didn’t know really what to expect. I have been incredibly impressed by all the fitness data. Keep it up Garmin!

I have these watches for several weeks and would say- they are great for outdoors especially with track back feature. They look great, battery lasts for week or two depending on always on/ off feature, bright enough for sunny days. Looks great on a wrist and different bands can suit any of your moods and occasions. When talking about long trips and outdoors- I would consider Epix as the best choice with better details on the map and long-lasting battery. You can chose Fenix for longer battery life, but you'll compromise on brightness. It's size is just perfect for me. Very lightweight and doesn't irritate your skin. Pairs easily with my iPhone 13 Pro and does have on-screen notifications. However, I can't totally change my other smart watch with it for urban usage even though Epic looks much more masculine and attractive. For me there are some features I like more on other smart watch, like automatic detection of an activity, while I've been skiing for hours and Epix haven't recognize any activity. That was disappointing. And if you're used to other smart watch, remember that you have to first chose your activity on Epix and then start it, which is strange: if I chose activity I definitely plan to do it right away. The second thing is sleeping analyses: it doesn't detect your sleeping... even if you turn it on during a daytime or after your night mode is off in the morning. If not these two, I would definitely give Epix 5 stars. I would definitely recommend them to a friend or whoever wants to combine a city and outdoors watch in one gadget. And Epix doesn't look like gadget, which I also like. All in all its a fantastic watch and the right choice for an active person.

Been wearing this daily for roughly 6 months now. I wear it as my everyday watch, and use it for Biking, Hiking, and Running. It's been up and down mountains all over the country and never misses a beat. Battery life is excellent and able to go several days tracking activities on a single charge.
Coming from a Samsung Smart Watch and then Garmins own Venu, I can say the Epix is on the larger side, and if not properly fastened, can cause wrist fatigue while on long downhill descents on the Enduro bike from bouncing around.
I love my Garmin products but sadly I have had 2 Epix devices and both continue to have random device rebooting issues and/or workouts stop recording mid ride and run. It seems to be a software issue since it's come about since the update with the running power feature addition. If It was my only device recording, it would be extremely frustrating. I have started using my iPhone and Hammerhead as backup as this error comes about intermittently.

Thank you for your review and experience with the epix (Gen 2). We would like to discuss this further over email. If you would please email us at product.support@garmin.com. Thanks Jenny
I wasn't too sure about upgrading to an Amoled screen due to having an apple watch before which i couldn't read much in sunlight. I love how the screen looks outdoor with the forerunner line but i got to tell you, the Epix 2 screen looks even better than that.. I mean compared it next to each other in direct sunlight and the Epix blows the forerunner outa the water. It's a bit on the heavy side but you get used to it after a few days. I didn't think i was going to keep it but i absolutely love love love this watch.

The readability and tracking is phenomenal. Battery life with everything on is adequate. I charge twice a week and use the GPS daily for activities. If you take on a longer trip you would need a battery pack, or you would need to adjust your settings.
