This vacuum is the best. I'm not sure why there are negative reviews. This is a hard floor vacuum people, not a carpet vacuum. This machine gets every little piece of dust and debris, and I love that the dirt collector comes off and you can clean the entire thing. No bag which is AHHHHMAZING. Bissell does it again. Love their products.
I generally like how this vacuum works for actual cleaning. But the design is awkward and is always getting hung up on things or tipped over. It’s almost easier to carry by the handle in one hand rather than stopping all the time to get it lose from whatever it is stuck on or to put it upright again, but carrying it is also tiresome. I will keep it because it does a good job of cleaning but wish it had a better design.

Steph, we understand how frustrating it can be when the design makes maneuvering more challenging, even if the machine cleans well. For smoother use, try keeping the hose aligned and giving a bit more space behind you to prevent tipping or snagging while moving. If you’d like additional guidance, please reach out to BISSELL at support.bissell.com or 1‑800‑237‑7691.
In spite off my expectations this vacuum is a disappointment. I purchased it specifically for my tile floors. While it does a good job removing the debris it's does not pull across the floor easily. In fact, it doesn't appear to roll at all. I liken it to pulling an anchor around my home. On top of that that it does not turn or swivel at all. I have to move it with my foot which further adds to the aggravation of using it. Lastly, it has a tendency to tip easily when pulling on the hose to get it to follow me.
I'll be replacing soon with something better. A bummer since we've used Bissel for years.

Thank you for the feedback! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, that's definitely not what we want to have happen! Please contact us at support.bissell.com so we can help.
Cleans fairly well, but the cyclonic idea is a joke. The cyclones get half-plugged with hair, dust, and dirt. The filter ends up needing to be cleaned more than I could imagine. And if it's not cleaned, it loses suction.
So it works good, with regular cleaning - of the vacuum that is.

Thanks for your honest feedback. We’re glad the machine cleans well, but we understand how frustrating it is to deal with frequent filter maintenance and reduced suction.
We’d like to help troubleshoot or offer tips to improve performance. Feel free to reach out at support.bissell.com so we can assist further.
I love the Bissell brand, and this is the third vacuum I've bought from them. I probably won't buy another. I believe the filter/seal at the top of the dirt cup, between the body and the handle for the cup, isn't seated properly. The vacuum emits a high pitch squeal. But if I put my hand over the intake grid above this filter, the noise stops. Until I vacuum a few more minutes, then it starts up all over again. I wish I could simply replace the part I believe is defective, but I cannot find it on the site. oh well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thanks for the detailed feedback, Beth. That high-pitched squeal definitely sounds frustrating, and you're likely right that it’s related to the filter or seal not being seated properly. If the part isn’t listed on the site, our team at support.bissell.com can help track it down or suggest a compatible replacement. We’d love to help you keep your third BISSELL running smoothly.
