I had my eye on this calendar for a while. I am so glad I decided to order, my only regret is not ordering it sooner! I was always a paper and pen calendar person, so I thought it was going to be a hard transition, it was not! I am so happy with this- my husband and I both have the app, we have lists, recipes, photos, etc. My six year old also loves using it. Every morning she goes to it to see what she has on the schedule for the day, and what’s for school lunch. Thank you for helping organize our family!
Calendar function is not working the way I had hoped. If I add something to my work calendar and send it to Skylight, it doesn't sync that item with my husbands calendar. I have to add it through Skylight and that's an extra step I don't want to take. I also don't like that if I send something from my work calendar, it automatically assumes the event is for me and won't let me assign it to someone else in the family.
Meals - I wish there was a way to either overlay the meals to the calendar at the respective times of the day so that you could meal plan while looking at the calendar. or if you were in vertical mode that you could have two widgets (calendar on top and meals below it)
list function needs added features. For example, if you're making a grocery list, you can't sub group the items by area of the grocery store (i.e. dairy, produce, etc) so you're constantly having to scroll up and down in the list.
I like that this digital calendar is for one specific purpose but there are a few things I would like updated to make this easier. The syncing of calendars from Apple and android and google makes the events show up many times. Manually entering events works better but very time consuming and destroys the whole purpose of the digital calendar. For the meals you have to enter and save a dish to a specific mealtime. What if I want to cook something for lunch OR dinner? There should be one list of meals to select. Also, I would like to be able to connect directly to the website I am pulling the recipe from instead of having to copy and paste. I’m stuck without being able to use my NYT cooking recipes for this because it doesn’t recognize me. The size is weird. I have the 15” calendar which is too big, but the 10” seems too small. A 13” would have been perfect. Also, why is the slot for the cord situated on the top of the back in portrait orientation? So if I hang this on the wall the cord goes out of the top? Seems like that is backwards.
I am in love with the Skylight Calendar! I have everything my family needs at their fingertips. I don’t hear “what’s for dinner 12 times. My kid can see the school lunch menu (I put the info in) and decide if she would like hot or cold lunch on the daily, takes 15 seconds. We are working into the chores feature, but love the little celebration it gives once finished. The list feature is great for making the many errands, grocery, and need to remember things. We purchased plus and that gives me the chance to magic import - GAME CHANGER! Seriously simple, send the flier/picture/email to the calendar email address and BAM uploaded and added to calendar. Plus you get an email with those events and an easy way/option to delete unnecessary events. When the calendar goes into screen saver mode I get to see lovely photos of my family and friends. Even videos play 🤯. Like everything in life there are still a few functions we would like to see. Louder alarm for event notifications, bidirectional with other calendars, recipes! But ultimately I am in love with my new Best Friend!!
