Does Everything Hoped For

I think it's pretty amazing. It's super easy to get stuff into the calendar (it has AI that reads emails and even screen shots), it imports automatically any calendar events from your iPhone, the calendar looks really good in the app, the shopping/ to-do lists are easy to manage and you can look/edit on your phone and the kids can input into the screen at the house.
There are a few integration issues we’ve found when using it with iPhone calendars. But nothing that can’t be overcome. We like the features of having categories and being able to mark different categories in different colors. Similar to the way you would make separate calendars in iPhone. We’ve found it is better to make your categories in iPhone calendars by creating separate calendars than syncing each calendar to skylight frame. If you make them all in skylight you cannot select a category within the calendar in the iPhone calendar but have to use the app or the frame it will just go to calendar you made it in.
So it would be best to make a calendar n iPhone for each kid, birthdays, and home, or whichever. Than you can sync each calendar to skylight, and you will be able to select in iPhone which calandra/category you want to add the event.
Also we found if you make an even in iPhone calendar you cannot edit the even in skylight. You must delete it and remake it in skylight in order to edit, as the edit button is missing for all events created in iPhone calender.
Over all it is great, could use better instructions. They are lacking greatly. We like the simplicity
Again if you use the skylight app there are no issues but if you continue to add events with iPhone calendar than make sure you set it up this way in the beginning and the only problem you will have is the no edit button. Which isn’t a huge issue but would like to have that fixed. You can always make your edits on the phone instead of the calendar.
My family absolutely loves it. 3 boys in multiple after school activities and this has helped everyone so on top of the chaotic schedule. And sometimes we sit and watch the pictures and never turn on the TV
While very basic, this calendar is very nice. It has a sleek design and is user friendly. Still trying to decide where to hang it, right now it’s countertop…not the most desirable for me. It does require power access to operate. The photo option is not for us. With the rather steep price for the unit itself a subscription service would have been a show stopper. Would like to see a basic weather forecast added, not just current temperature. The iPad interface is kludgy. Some items overlap and there is no simple “day view” as there is on the unit itself.
This has replaced my husband’s paper calendar on the kitchen wall AND he is no longer scribbling tasks on my pantry whiteboard. That was my motivation!
I definitely recommend Skylight, their products are very useful and we have enjoyed the features of the calander. I wish there were more settings in the app though. The colors of the events are very faint and don't stand out on the calander in the app. There are no settings for darker colors of events. I also think the calander was a little expensive for what you get and the lack of settings and options in the app.
I was so excited about this product but I have had nothing but technology problems. I even hired a tech specialists to sync the calendars and it is not capable. I can't hide my all my appointments which blocks the kids schedules I got it for. I would LOVE a refund but the limited window passed once I exhausted every option to make it work.
To hard to update. Should have a touch screen that is easier to use and program the daily activities in the calendar. Also would like an app to keep on your phone that would sync to the calendar
