After having the ION I find the WP-580 underpowered. But my wife thinks it's powerful enough but wishes the reservoir was larger. However, I do understand that it a more travel friendly tan the ION and thus some compromises are necessary.
I'm very pleased with my WaterPik....and so is my dentist! I'm getting great reports from the hygienist and the dentist. My teeth are really clean and my gums are very healthy!
I prefer my counter top water pik, it holds more water and has more spray power. This portable one is okay for trips, but will only use occasionally at my home. Like for a quick rinse. Its high power spray is still low. I have no intention of using it in the shower as recommended.
This is my first time using a water pik device. I have to admit it does take some practice to get used to the device. But so far I really like it. It is easy to handle and the pressure is just right for me on the medium level. I like that the nozzle can be rotated around to get it in the proper direction. The battery has lasted for about 4 weeks before needing to charge it. I haven't used it in the shower so I'm not sure about it being waterproof. It can leave some water on the sink while using.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed that my new waterpic doesn’t have the pressure of the old one!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
