I have a few vornados and tho this one is not technically a circulator I needed a fan to actually hit me and oscillate. Of course everything out there is cheap plastic so why not splurge on something that might last and also look great in the winter when not in use? I was not disappointed. The entire Alchemy line is simply beautiful. This has actual metal blades. A great somewhat deep sound. Great workmanship. Highly recommend.

Good luck cleaning it

Xmas gift. After six months fan started clicking. Just tried to clean it. Now I can’t get cheap plastic rim that hold the grill together back on. Why does an expensive fan have such a cheap — but critical — design element. Don’t these people test drive these things.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Quality Fan

I purchased one of these when they were available in “sea foam green” (my own color description). I have used it continuously during the warmer months to keep the bedroom cooler. I have not had any issues at all. I’m pleased to find a quality oscillating fan after using two others that just didn’t last. This is a great fan.
I purchased a second on that is black in color and still in the box that I’ll use when this one quits. I’ve been using this one for over five years. Yes they cost more but are worth the extra money in my opinion. My only concern is that Vornado may discontinue this fan at some point. I hope that never happens.

great look and works like a horse

I have had this fan running mostly 24 hour a day. It is hard working and very effective overall.
However, I would have preferred that the back of the cage were ALSO removable for cleaning.
I can remove the front cage to clean the fan blade but cannot remove the back, which is where most of the schmutz is located. (dust collects)
I love the 30’s look AND i Love how long it has lasted (6 yrs?). I love that it is made of such tough materials. Very important!

But I do love it. It is still the more superior fan than any other I’ve found. I remove the front cage and re-attach with plastic or wires after blowing out the schmutz and reattach the front - not great looking but is effective. The back cage cannot be removed and this is where most of the dust collects. I have no idea why they did not take this into consideration. It is loaded with dust which I cannot remove so the speed of the fan decreases each year.

Beautiful fan.

I had purchased this fan back in 2024. Recently in October of 2025 it started making a horrendous noise on any speed but stationary and on High. It was the fan I used nightly to sleep with it running and it does a phenomenal job at circulating the air effectively. I reached out to Vornado about the issue and they replaced my defective fan with no issues. The replacement fan is dead silent on low and the other two speeds work perfectly and I can use this one on the oscillating feature with absolutely no rattle or noise at all. I love how it is sturdy and almost all metal. The motor is of good quality as it has to spin the heavy blade set, and the bearings must be of high quality cause when the fan is powered off it takes well over a minute to come to a stop. My other one that was defective was not like that. So I am hoping like other reviews of this fan that it will last for many years. The styling is great and the tilt and oscillating features are great. It is heavy and therefore not easily knocked over. Plus the great experience I had when something was definitely wrong with the first unit and they replaced it with no issues. I have had so many Vornado products over the years, currently have a flippi fan on my desk and we use the 660 model 24/7 all year blowing straight up and it does awesome circulating the air in both summer and winter. The 660 we have had going on 3 years and it is always on unless I shut it off to clean it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It’s a really nice fan. But it vibrates and makes a terrible noise while running. I can’t leave it on at night because it’ll keep me awake.
