Started smoking smelled like gonna catch on fire

I bought this less than a month ago trying to purée a blended banana smoothie started smelling really bad like electrical fire and started to smoke I shut it off and unplugged it it wasn’t mixing my smoothie up either
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A powerful mini-workhorse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a tad skeptical about using a blender with a glass jar, more so because I am clumsy and can easily drop or ding it. However, the jar is surprisingly quite sturdy.
I love the fact that it is a 6 cup and is perfect for a small-medium family for daily use. I use it for smoothies, sauces, pastes, etc, and have had no issues at all. I love the fact that it handles tougher chunks like frozen fruit and vegetables with ease too.

I do hand wash it though, and this is just me. I'm sure it will hold up fine in the dishwasher but I like increasing the life of my belnders by doing a quick handwash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my household loves smoothies, so a blender is a must have and I like this blender because its easy to handle, quick to assemble, and washes well in the dishwasher. there are plenty of speed modes that can be chosen for your blending. the size is good enough for a family of 4-5. the overall product is very reliable and durable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom of 5, I struggle with getting my kids to drink anything beyond soda. So having a good blender is a must for me! I love to blend up some fresh fruit like watermelon with ice and make natural slushies for them to drink. They love it! The Oster Easy to Clean blender fits my family perfectly. It's a fast clean up (because lord knows I barely have time to even breathe) and it has a nice/sharp power to it. I've tried many blenders and so far this is my favorite. True value for your money.

Makes smooth drinks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This makes great smoothies and frosty drinks! It is easy to clean and assemble. I was drawn to it because it specifically listed how well it crushes ice. It did crush ice well, as long as there is liquid. I did try to crush just ice and it was okay but after a while the small pieces stuck under the blade and eventually it wasn’t crushes any more but it wasn’t bad either. I like to chomp on ice and it’s nice to have smaller pieces. The kids enjoy making açaí bowls and my husband used it for his protein shakes. It gets used almost daily and has held up nicely after a few months. I’m excited to see how it holds up during all the upcoming holiday season!

Great blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender is so easy to use and gets the job done. Is perfect for my kitchen because doesn't take much space. It has a powerful motor that crush ice. So easy to pull apart for cleaning and is dishwasher safe. I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this blender is easy to clean, I have a hard time blending my smoothies with it. I’m not sure if it’s user error, but I followed the very weak directions provided and still wait for minutes to have a blended smoothie. I don’t like that I have to hold some buttons but others can be pushed on and off. There’s a lot of options but not much description on what to use them for, for how long, etc. so it’s all just a guessing game until you figure it out. I like how big it is, and that i can hand wash it with ease.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

That is definitely not the kind of experience that we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. here's a tip if you are having a hard time blending your smoothies, load the jar in the following order: liquids first, then soft fruits or vegetables, greens, and ice on top. You can also add small amounts of water, milk, or juice. Work your machine back up to its highest speed, and process for 10-20 seconds. Hope this helps!

Powerful motor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Oster Blender is my new go to for making all my smoothies. My daughter and I live for a good frozen fruit smoothie and it requires frozen fruit, ice, oat milk, a few greens and chia seeds. I make them daily to make sure we all get the vitamins we need. Anyhow I used to use a random bullet, but now I ONLY use my Oster blender. Is and incredibly strong mixer, excellent and chopping up frozen fruits and ices. I’ve even used it for chopping up dry herbs for cooking and it makes the best pancakes. I’m in love with how easy it is to clean and take care of and I love the glass pitcher, it really makes me feel best when I use glass for meal preparation as opposed to plastic. I enjoy the look of it on my counter top and the smoothness of my smoothies snd it’s simple enough my teen daughter is able to use it. It’s very sturdy and the glass is very very thick. Even dropping it in the sink is not of concern. Pulverizing my frozen strawberries and blueberries and other fruits and even breaking apart my flax and chia seeds. It’s such an awesome blender and I really enjoy using it.
