Great upgrade from a standard monitor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Kidde carbon monoxide & air quality monitor feels like a smart home upgrade that doesn’t require a tech degree to use. Installation was incredibly simple, just plug it in, connect it through the app using the QR code and run the test. I also appreciated that the backup batteries were already installed so no last-minute hunting for batteries.
The set up material strikes a nice balance between detailed and approachable. There’s a comprehensive user guide if you want all the information but also a quick start guide to get you up and running in minutes. The app is intuitive and makes it easy to check air quality readings, device status, and alerts at a glance. You can also integrate with Alexa and Google Home which is a nice bonus if you already have a smart home setup.
One feature I really liked is the placement flexibility. Unlike ceiling mounted detectors, this plugs into a standard outlet and is discreet enough to be on a lower wall (which is much safer for CO alerts!). The swivel plug makes positioning easy and the built in light sensor prevents unnecessary battery warnings overnight unless there’s a critical alert!
The indoor air quality monitor takes 2 days after plugging in to acclimate and calibrate but once it does, the amount of information available is impressive. Overall this feels like a thoughtfully designed & easy to use monitor that combines safety and air quality into one compact, smart device.

Every Home Needs This!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great carbon monoxide monitor with tons of extra features. It was very simple to install and only took a few minutes. You can then connect it to the app which will provide helpful insights into air quality, temperature and humidity and alert you if anything goes outside of the normal range. It gives you great peace of mind, I have it installed in my basement near my gas appliances but planning to buy more for other areas of my house. Highly recommend this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Kidde smart carbon monoxide alarm is a strong upgrade over a basic plug in detector. I like that it runs from a standard 120V outlet but still has two AA backup batteries, so it keeps local protection during a power outage. The rotating plug is also useful because it lets the unit sit upright in different outlet layouts.
Coverage is good as long as you place it correctly. This is not something I would rely on as a single whole home device. Kidde recommends CO alarms on each level of the home, especially near fuel burning appliances and outside sleeping areas, and this model only detects carbon monoxide at the sensor location. For that reason, I see this as one well featured unit in a broader home safety setup rather than a one and done solution.
The alert volume is very loud. The 85 dB alarm at 10 feet is hard to miss, and the warning pattern is backed up by red LED alerts and a digital display that shows CO levels in PPM. The app alerts are a big plus because they can notify you when you are away from home, although those smart alerts depend on AC power and a stable WiFi connection.
Accuracy seems well thought out for the CO side. It uses an electrochemical CO sensor and is built around current CO alarm standards. The indoor air quality side is helpful too, tracking temperature, relative humidity, and TVOCs, but it should be viewed as a home comfort and awareness feature, not a lab grade air monitor. The guide says the IAQ sensor needs at least 5 minutes to warm up and may take up to 4 days to reach full accuracy. It also notes that IAQ readings can vary depending on room placement, airflow, vents, and nearby devices.
Overall, this is an effective and feature rich CO alarm with excellent responsiveness. The low level CO alerts, phone notifications, digital display, no nighttime low battery chirps, Hush feature, air quality tracking, and smart home support make it much more useful than a basic detector. I would still recommend placing multiple CO alarms throughout the home for proper coverage, but this model is a very solid choice for a bedroom hallway, main living area, or any level with fuel burning appliances. My only caveat is that the WiFi and app features should be treated as a helpful extra, not the main life safety warning. The local alarm and proper placement are what matter most.

Best carbon monoxide monitor & alarm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super useful and practical carbon monoxide monitor/alarm. It plugs into an outlet and also has backup batteries (included!). Also comes with helpful information stickers to place near the device in case of emergency. The install is literally so easy - pull the plastic tab to engage the batteries and plug into the wall. Fits on any outlet with room. Has a little light and display on the monitor itself. Pairs easily with the app with pretty easy to use interface. Replace every 10 years. Beeps are loud - you can hear them when installing. So worth it.

Alerts are clear and loud and the smart notification provide extra peace of mind.
Build quality feels good and sturdy and for the price it offered a lot of value. Definitely worth considering.
