Gets hot way to fast and the diagnostic test sucks

It's normal for your Galaxy phone to get warm during use, but this should not impact the device's lifespan or performance. If you ever find the device uncomfortable to hold due to heat, it’s important to stop using it and allow it to cool down. Before following any recommendations, make sure your device's software and apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:
1. Go to **Settings** > **Software Update**.
2. Tap on **Download and Install**.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
There are several reasons why your Galaxy phone may heat up during use. Common scenarios include:
- Using power-intensive features or apps for extended periods, which increases battery consumption.
- Downloading large files.

Decent midrange phone

Cons: 25W charging is slow for 2025, no headphone jack, no wireless charging, underwhelming ultrawide and macro cameras, performance lags behind some rivals.
In summary, the Galaxy A26 5G is a durable and future-proof phone with a great display and solid core camera, ideal for users who value software longevity and build quality over top-tier performance and fast charging. I'm not sure about any Galaxy AI but maybe ..

Has needed features.

I use it for messaging, phone calls, uploading tickets for admission to parks, concerts etc. I also use for airline tickets and alerts. It is also my personal calendar and love the reminders feature. The thing I have had trouble with is voice to text, much easier to access on my previous model.

If your device is running slowly or experiencing glitches, consider optimizing its performance by clearing its memory. Here’s how:
1. Go to **Settings**.
2. Swipe to and tap **Device care**.
3. Tap **Memory**, then select **Clean now** to free up memory by stopping background apps.
If you want certain apps to continue running in the background, you can tap **Excluded apps** and add your preferred apps to the list to prevent them from being closed during this process.
Additionally, restarting your phone occasionally can provide a more thorough memory clean. You can restart your device by swiping down from the top of the screen using two fingers to open the Quick settings panel, then tapping the **Power** icon.
