Ring Smoke Alarm for peace of mind!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve recently installed my Ring Smoke Alarm, and I’m happy with it! It definitely brings me a little more peace every day. My dog is home alone, and I have always worried about what would happen if there were a fire when I wasn’t home. Now, with my Ring Smoke Alarm, I know I would receive an alert in case smoke was detected & could contact authorities.
There is an optional paid subscription available to have the smoke alarm live monitored by Ring’s subscription service. I haven’t decided if I’ll pay for this feature or not. I see how it can be helpful, but I almost always have access to my phone.

Solid smart alarm, but prepare for a little Wi-Fi patience!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We swapped out our old smoke detector for the Kidde Ring Smart Smoke Alarm, and overall I’m happy with it.
The good
Installation was an absolute breeze. We just put it right where our old one use to be, so no major work needed there. I really like that it’s a Kidde product. They’re a really well respected fire safety brand. Gives me peace of mind. We acftually have one of their fire extinguishers in our kitchen.

The small quirks
- for some reason, getting this little guy connected to our wifi was a bit of a headache. It took us multiple tried to finally get the two to see each other. Could be an issue with our wifi, but still was a little annoying.
- size is a bit smaller than our old detector so there’s a little ring of exposed wall that’s a different color around. We’ll need to do a quick paint touchup. Not Kidde’s issue at all - just want to give a heads up if you’re replacing an older, bigger fire alarm.

despite the wifi hiccups, I definitely recommend it if you want to upgrade to a smart setup. Feels great knowing I can keep tabs on things right from my phone.

Wifi alert is amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Came with battery that activated once tab was pulled. Tested by lighting a match and worked both with sending an alert to phone, and making noise that could be heard from across the house. Standard size detector that came with an easy install bracket and then the smoke detector had to be twisted in. Made it super easy to install on the ceiling.

Alerting!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sound is top notch as it scared my dogs when it was talking during activation... adding it to the app was also super easy just like the installation process! Beeps loud and clear the entire house was alerted during the testing!

Easy Installation & Peace of Mind

Thankfully, it has not gone off but I am confident in the brand! It does give me a greater peace of mind when my husband is in the garage working on cars.

Nice smoke alarm

Set up was pretty easy with the app and it came with its own batteries for start up. I do like having this as a backup for the already installed smoke detectors in the house. Nice size that fits anywhere. Over all works really well.

WiFi Mandatory? Unclear

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Physically attaching it to the ceiling was pretty easy, but the instructions were quite vague about installing it without connecting it to WiFi and the Ring app system. I would prefer to not use the WiFi feature due to EMF concerns, but the instructions didn’t give a clear answer on if this is possible. I’m assuming the ring app has a walk through of the set up process, it would be nice to have a paper version of that as well.
