The WaterPik does a great job with the teeth and gums. The main reasons to give 4 stars are (1) these units have a tendency to fail after a year or two of use even when one uses vinegar to rinse it periodically and (2) the rechargeable batteries are very difficult to remove to recycle them when the unit does fail.

This is a great product except for one design flaw. I bought this for travel to locations where I did not have electricity. When packing, the "ON" switch is too prominent, and it turned on in my luggage several times. A slider "on" switch or a cover would have made this a perfect travel model.
