Horrible Battery Problems
on May 29, 2026
Posted by: Kevn
Had a Samsung ring that lasted a little over a year before experiencing dramatic battery decline. Service options were limited and expensive. Went through all the troubleshooting questions/process multiple times. Finally decided to move away from the Samsung Ring to Oura.
There has been a lot of negative feedback in a lot of reviews on this ring, so Samsung should admit it has a high fail rate and develop a fix - simply repeating Samsung Care is available and the 1 year warranty does NOTHING to solve the problem. For a known issue like dramatic battery decline, rings should be swapped out without charge.

Salutations Kevn,
Thanks for taking the time to share your sentiments with us regarding your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We value your feedback as we continue to make improvements on our product line to align with the needs of our customers. As you know, Samsung provides a 12-month warranty for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. We also offer Samsung Care+ which is similar to an extended warranty and an insurance package combined. It can provide protection beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. It could cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ truly offers you the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to protecting your investment. Our partners at UbreakIfix are also available to assist you with any repair needs you may have. When it comes to charging your Galaxy Ring, you have three options: USB-C charging, charging wirelessly, and charging with Wireless PowerShare. Each of these methods requires using the Galaxy Ring case that came with your ring. Each ring's case is specific to its ring. The Galaxy Ring should be fully charged before using it for the first time. If the battery is completely drained, it may need to be charged for at least ten minutes before it can be used. No matter which charging method you use, you must charge the Galaxy Ring in the case that came with it. Please take a moment to check out, "How to charge the Galaxy Ring" to help resolve what you have described to be experiencing with your Galaxy Ring battery. With the Galaxy Ring, you're able to slip your device on and forget it with a seven-day charge that won’t slow you down. Combined with a full cradle charge, you can use Galaxy Ring for up to 14 days without plugging into an outlet. Please feel free to review, "Galaxy Ring won't charge" to help resolve what you may be experiencing with your device. If you have any questions for us or if you would like any further assistance after reviewing the resources shared, please do not hesitate to reach out to Samsung Support at your earliest convenience. Thank you for being a valued Samsung customer.

Hey BWS11,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. Your critiques provide valuable insights that will assist us with improving our product line to better suit your needs. Samsung provides a 12-month warranty on your device for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. On a single charge, the Galaxy Ring can last up to 7 days, depending on usage. Battery life may be extended by up to 30% if worn alongside a Galaxy Watch, as this helps reduce redundant feature usage. For optimal battery performance, it's recommended to store the Ring in its charging case when not in use. If left outside the case, the Ring's sensors will remain active, resulting in unnecessary battery consumption. Battery life for your Galaxy Ring can vary depending on environmental factors like temperature, network environment, and signal strength can all affect battery life. Also, usage patterns: frequent use of features like sleep tracking, work auto detection, and gesture controls can impact how long the battery lasts. If you would like further assistance after checking out the resources shared below, please feel free to reach out to Samsung Support at your leisure. Thank you for being a loyal Samsung customer.

Love the features...hate the battery life now
on May 20, 2026

So I love the ring itself and its features but the problem I have that I'm trying to work through is the battery life. It started off great but now it barely holds a charge for 4 hours 5 hours and then it's dead even though I'm charging it constantly. I'm not getting the full benefit of wearing on my finger all the time because I have to charge it like every 4 hours. I like the connectivity with my Galaxy phone and the features that it has but I really really would wish that it had a better battery life and I think I've already passed my 1-year warranty so now I don't know what to do. I'm seriously contemplating getting Oura ring now. I love Samsung and the Galaxy items but I'm really disappointed in that battery life on the ring. I wish I could trade my Galaxy ring to get an updated version with a better battery.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Less than a year later and a full charge lasts less than a few hours. I will fully charge it before bed (11pm) and by 5 am it is dead.
It feels like plastic and is easily scratched.

Hello Isamar,
Thank you for sharing your sentiments with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We value your transparency as we continue to improve the performance and functionality of our product line. Samsung provides a 12-month warranty on our products for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. We also offer Samsung Care+ that is similar to extended warranty and an insurance package combined that provides protection beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. It would cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ offers you that peace of mind when added to your eligible devices (Phones, Tablets, Watches, Buds, Rings & PCs). Our partners at UbreakIfix are also available to assist you with any repair needs you may have. With the Galaxy Ring, you're able to slip your device on and forget it with a seven-day charge that won’t slow you down. Combined with a full cradle charge, you can use Galaxy Ring for up to 14 days without plugging into an outlet. We understand how frustrated you may be to not have your device looking as pristine as it was during your unboxing. Here's a few precautions: Prevent the ring from being exposed to dust, sweat, ink, oil, and chemical products such as cosmetics, antibacterial sprays, hand cleaners, detergents, and insecticides. The ring’s exterior and interior may become damaged, which may result in poor performance. If the ring is exposed to any of these substances, clean it using a soft, lint-free cloth. Never use external heat sources, ultrasonic waves, soap, cleaning agents, abrasive materials, or compressed air to clean the ring. Doing so may damage the ring. Feel free to check out, "Keep your Galaxy Ring clean" if you would like to learn more. Please feel free to check out the resources shared below to help resolve what you may be experiencing with your device. If you would like any further assistance afterward, please do not hesitate to reach out to Samsung Support. Thank you for being a faithful Samsung customer.

Great Product, but a Huge Flaw
on May 9, 2026

I am really invested in the Samsung ecosystem, and I truly love their products, from the Fold to the Watch Classic 6 and the earbuds. During the first year with the ring, it worked perfectly! The battery was incredible, the feel of the ring felt amazing, and it was just slightly bulkier than a traditional ring. I love the materials Samsung used; the titanium finish felt great and light. On top of that, it was extremely accurate at reading my sleep and exercises.
However, after a year and a half of use, the Samsung Ring is not what it used to be. What used to be about 1.5 weeks of no charge became two or maybe three days, if lucky, with a full charge. The case for the ring presented the same problem. It got so bad that now I can't even put on the ring because the battery depletes immediately and it won't connect with the phone. I can only connect it when it's attached to the case. I tried doing a diagnostic test, and it can't even complete the diagnosis.
I talked to a couple of people who bought the ring, and some of them started to present the same problem I did.
It became unusable after a year and a half. The warranty only lasts for a year, which is truly heartbreaking because I really loved the ring. I feel like it's a waste of money if it's only going to last for less than two years. Hopefully, Samsung makes the next version better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
