I bought this for use after I've had a few drinks in a restaurant. As the instructions state, it will not be accurate if you've just taken a drink or eaten anything. Other than that, I've found it to be very consistent. I've gotten to where I can predict what my BAC will be, and it's usually close. That alone is helpful in knowing when to stop. I was please with the small size, the case, and the additional mouthpieces it came with. I've only had it a few months, so I don't know what kind of hassle it will be to have it re-calibrated, or how soon that will be necessary. I bought my son in college the same one for Christmas after he kept borrowing mine. I would much rather he and his friends be able to check themselves than get a costly DUI. I think everyone who drinks should have one.
i use it on a regular basis when me and friends go out to bars. havent got pulled over yet to see if its dead accurate, but it does seem to be pretty accurate. comes with a nice little carrying case. instructions are real easy to follow.
Its a great product. I use it all the time when I go out and have to drive. You have to keep in mind though that it takes about 15 minutes for accurate results. If you have a sip of alcohol and use the breathalyzer right after, your results will obviously be high. Wait ten-fifteen minutes and your results are pretty accurate.
I love this model and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I also bought the keychain model, but the reading was inaccurate, compared to this model. The keychain would be good to have over having nothing at all.
This product allows me to see my general BAC, which is something I have wondered about for my whole adult life. I'm glad I paid extra for the best model to have maximum reliability.
Have blow machine in car, use to test myself before starting. This is cheaper in the long run as oppossed to single use test strips. Not as effected by extreme temps, so you can leave it in car..
I lost my license over 2 years ago for drink driving. I then had an alcohol interlock installed on my car for 16 months. Once that was removed I realised the fear of being 'on my own'. The BACtrack gives me peace of mind as I still enjoy a drink, but I feel safe having this device in my car.
